Re: Delivery Days
Have you tried phoning up every morning to ask if there is post for you that day? It would be interesting to know whether you've got post before the postie leaves the building so you'd know whether it just wasn't being delivered that day, or whether you just didn't have any if you know what I mean? If you could then document the days when you've phoned and been told you have got mail, and then nothing arrived, you've got more "ammo" so to speak?

Re: Delivery Days
I didn't realise that was possible. It would be good to know but I'm not looking to cause any trouble, I simply want my post. Thanks for your reply. I can see the stand in postie in the road now, I hope he's got my weeks post

Re: Delivery Days
Do you live close to the delivery office Whiskey? You could ask them to set up a temp call and collect. (Can CS still do this guys? I've been away since March) Might be the ideal solution while they are fixing the duties out if it's causing you so many problems.
I know it should be delivered, but might be the best solution for you.

Re: Delivery Days
I don't see why you couldn't phone the delivery office... I don't think there's a law against asking whether there's any mail there for you! I thought it might be an interesting experiment. If you know you've got mail there that morning and then it doesn't turn up, you'll know that it's not being delivered and there therefore IS problem with deliveries in your area.

Re: Delivery Days
Thanks but I have never managed to get through to the DO by phone, it's either engaged or rings out. How would they know if there is post going to an individual house if I did get through? I'm not sure I want to cause any trouble for myself or anyone else by doing that. Thanks for the suggestion though. It seems like a good idea in theory.

Re: Delivery Days
If you ring before the start "bundling" they delivery up (times dependent on office and contract for postie doing it) then ALL addresses have a slot on the "frame", it may be shared slot but its still a simple case of someone counting the mail and telling you. However, it all depends on who answers the phone, whether they can leave the section they are in, what position they hold extra.Whiskey wrote:Thanks but I have never managed to get through to the DO by phone, it's either engaged or rings out. Might be worth calling Customer Services see if the can set something up so that a manager checks how much there is and reports it to you every so often, perhaps even by email.

Re: Delivery Days
Good idea TBT. Used to see these cards often when I was covering different duties. All mail to be shown to manager daily. Might be worth a shot Whiskey

Re: Delivery Days
Do you have park and loop now, it's probably the float refusing to work over their time and another failed park and loop round.
The regulars may be taking their own cars out or running it.

Yes we have park and loop now. It is the regular postie that seems to be having the problem though. On his day off I get my post earlier and and they don't look to be particularly rushing it either.robg wrote:Do you have park and loop now, it's probably the float refusing to work over their time and another failed park and loop round.

I spoke to my postie last night at 4.15pm when he came with my post but to be honest it's too infuriating to repeat. I'm trying the official route through royal mail to get it sorted but I'm not holding my breath on that one!
Thanks for all your help and the honest answers, I really do appreciate it

Re: Delivery Days
4:15 is too late. What's the last letter time agreed guys. Sorry Whiskey, I'm not trying to pry, but are you rural or urban? Rural walks are up to 4:30 I think. I could be wrong tho, I often get things mixed up, especially as I'm not there any more
Rather than go into what happened between you and postie, could you outline what the general excuse was?

I thought it was still 2pm for town and 3pm for rural?
