Do RM staff get more breaks than Angard?

This is just something I noticed on shift last night. I could be wrong but it seemed like every 1.5 hours or so, the "real" RM staff go for a quick coffee or a toilet visit whilst Angard staff are just left to work for hours until we're given "permission" to go on a break. If this is the case that it's totally wrong. We're all working the same shift, and in this case also doing the same job, so there's no justification for one group having more breaks than another.

Yeah but us on delivery only get 40 minutes on an 8 hour shift.

If you're looking for whether it's fair or not you're wasting your time.
There is no fairness in the world of employment.

As we're often on our feet for hours on end, I'm looking for casual staff to have more - half an hour in 8 hours just isn't sufficient. I'd never try to take away RM staff's break just because Angard are treated unfairly - if the tables were flipped I wouldn't want someone doing it to us, and it's not the staff's fault in the first place.

You could possibly have a longer break,or say an extra 15 mins later on in the shift,but you would lose the 15 mins in pay or you could negotiate working 15 mins extra.

It's just something i'm throwing out,whether the MC would swallow it as they would have to do extra organising is another thing.

But you can't do that, one break must be 20 minutes around the middle of the day.

(Christmas) Casuals have always had shorter breaks than RM staff. Ever since I started at the RM in 2000 on the early shift it used to be 10 mins, 30 mins, 10 mins and then last year it became 10, 20, 10. Our RM staff at York disagreed with it but could do nothing though our Line Manager used to be fair and if he found the work had eased off because we were waiting for the mail lorry to arrive or unload, he used to either extend the first break or give us another 10 mins between the first two.

it depends where you are working but you can get away with anything where i work. i take extra time on breaks and skieve about a lot and no one says f**k all to me. ive been told off a few times by workers and managers but nothing serious its piss easy to get away with things.
