Anyone work in delivery for S63?

Post by pepsi_max2k »

Hi good ole mail people, I have a task for you :)

An item I've posted to a customer by recorded mail has gone "missing" (this was in fact a replacement for a previous one they'd claimed as missing, along with other goods they've purchased elsewhere they also claim are missing). eBay, ain't it wonderful?

Anyway, as with half our recorded signed-for mail, no one's bothered to upload tracking info, so I'm just trying to figure out who to contact to get the details should they exist - online e-mail CS just sent over a standard "sorry your item is missing, please fill in a claim form" reply.

The tracking number is AH560850480GB and should have been delivered to S63 0DQ around 12th / 14th november.

The closest delivery office I can fine is Manvers Delivery Office (01709 763710) but I figure you lot may be able to help just as much.

Thanks :)

When you mention "recorded signed-for mail" are you referring to Recorded Delivery (orange barcode stickers) or Special Delivery (silver barcode stickers)?

Recorded Delivery items are'nt tracked. The only info available will be when it is signed for by the recipient.

Tracking number says it's a recorded,sounds like the postie possibly has not got it signed for,unfortunately that does happen and the ebayer is pulling a fast one.
Only thing to do is put a claim in...and check ebayers feedback more carefully.

>> When you mention "recorded signed-for mail" are you referring to Recorded Delivery

http://www.royalmail.com/delivery/busin ... ded-signed" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Now officially called "Recorded Signed-For" :wink: But yeah, it was Recoded Delivery and not priority mail. I appreciate the only "tracking" as such is showing a delivery location and signature, and possibly the location of posting if using a PO, but getting neither (we have business collections) isn't exactly helpful :( Which would be why we have to make the delivery drivers sign postage certificates when they're collected :roll:

>> sounds like the postie possibly has not got it signed for,unfortunately that does happen and the ebayer is pulling a fast one.

That's usually my best guess, which is why we like to have proof...

The latter is why this was sent recorded in the first place. At least we could be certain they're scamming people before calling them out. Now I guess we just asume they're telling the truth and claim with RM. Unless anyone has any better ideas? Would the delivery office even hold details if it were delivered?

I doubt the DO will have any record as RD's come through with the normal mail and are processed the same aswell. The only way for them to have a record of it is if its been through the Callers Office, ie a docket left due to person not being in, but the Callers Office would've scanned that in to say they are holding it.
