Shoppenhangers Road in Maidenhead was closed this morning after a Royal Mail van was involved in an accident with a blue VW Polo car just before 11.30am.
The driver of the van was taken to Wexham Park Hospital in Slough with suspected head injuries.
Firefighters, who joined ambulance staff on the scene, were still working to free the trapped woman driver of the VW an hour after the accident happened, at 12.30pm.
