I want to ask something..

I bought an item from the USA. They sent it using USPS and Royal Mail for the delivery in Britain.

Attempted Delivery Abroad, December 29, 2010, 8:30 am, GREAT BRITAIN
At Foreign Delivery Unit, December 29, 2010, 5:37 am, GREAT BRITAIN
Out of Foreign Customs, December 24, 2010, 8:06 am, GREAT BRITAIN
Into Foreign Customs, December 22, 2010, 11:19 pm, GREAT BRITAIN
Into Foreign Customs, December 22, 2010, 11:18 pm, GREAT BRITAIN
Arrived Abroad, December 22, 2010, 11:16 pm, GREAT BRITAIN
International Dispatch, December 18, 2010, 10:07 am, ISC SAN FRANCISCO (USPS)

It's been more than 2 weeks since the last status. I lived in a student accommodation in the university. So, the postman should have sent the item into the receptionist, but the receptionist said that he got nothing for me and there was also no message left.

So I dont have P739 card now. It probably because the receptionist wasn't there at that moment. I have asked the seller. He said that he had asked the postmaster in the USA, the reason I didn't get any P739 card was because they couldn't find my address. It's weird because I never have problem before. I bought lots of things from amazon and it was fine.

So, what should I do now? Can I collect it by myself without P739?

I'm new in the UK so I don't really familiar with the system here.

Thanks
Tough one,it could of been sent back to the USA as not properly addressed, although not sure how USPS would know that the postie couldn't find you.
I would suggest you go down to the delivery office asap with lots of ID and try there,if they haven't got it then chances are it has been sent back.
Cant rem what the time limit is for int signed for i think it's 3 weeks so you may get lucky.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

I drive trains, and we get insulted when we're bang on time. People seem to think because they've stood 5 minutes, that means the trains late. They haven't a clue about timetables.
Reason Im here is that I was told my deliveries would be 1st November, so i took a much needed lieu day off. Needless to say, as happens often, they didn't arrive.
Furious would be an understatment.
Now I check Amazon, and the stuff has been stuck in Yorkshire.
Walk a mile in your shoes ?
You need to do the same, chum.

Perhaps if you had quoted my post in context it would have made sense. I was not replying to you, as far as I know you were not a member then (2010) unless of course you have registered under another name.

As to your particular situation.

Who told you it would be delivered on 1 November, did they use either Tracked or Special Delivery as that is the only "guaranteed" services. If they did send it by this method then they will claim off Royal Mail, and undoubtedly Amazon will apologise profusely.

However, of course as you realise being a Train Driver, not everything goes to plan every time, the sign of a good business is how they handle failures.
