I Wrote-During Covid-Which is still relevant now
It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

They are negotiable. I was on a stage 1 due to a long term health issue (which RM were aware of before they employed me)
I had a stage 1 re-issed twice when I had about 8 days off in a 6 months period - 4 lots of 2 days.
I eventually had a stage 2 which didn't bother me because their doctor said I was genuinely ill and therefore I couldn't really be sacked for it (they really do have to prove you weren't ill)
Anyway, to cut a long story short, my problem was solved and I think it's at least 18 months since I had a day off sick. I know what you are thinking and no, they didn't tell me I was no longer on a stage 2 or a stage 1. In fact I'm sure that according to their records I'll still be listed as on a stage 2.

It's never the case that we need to prove that you are not ill. If you say that you are ill then you are( we are not doctors). It's how long for that makes the difference.Spedley wrote:They are negotiable. I was on a stage 1 due to a long term health issue (which RM were aware of before they employed me)
