1 absence of 10 days or 2 separate absences will trigger a stage 2 warning

Sack

Watch it, if you go to a stage 3 it's the instant sack. Well, if you live in Stockport it is.

2. MINIMUM NATIONAL ATTENDANCE STANDARDS - EMPLOYEES NOT ON TRIAL
Employees who have successfully completed their trial period are still required to maintain a high standard of attendance. Attendance may be regarded as warranting formal action if an employee who is not on trial has:

Stage 1: 4 absences or 14 days in a 12 month period
Stage 2: 2 absences or 10 days in any 6 month period during the next 12 months
Stage 3: 2 absences or 10 days in any 6 month period during the next 12 months
So keep on moving, moving, moving your feet
Keep on shuf-shuf-shuffling to this ghost dance beat
Just keep on walking down never ending streets

Be very careful over the 6 month issue. You can for example be clear for 10 months, then have 2 absences of only a day each in the last 2 months and it will still trigger the next stage.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

They are negotiable. I was on a stage 1 due to a long term health issue (which RM were aware of before they employed me)

I had a stage 1 re-issed twice when I had about 8 days off in a 6 months period - 4 lots of 2 days.

I eventually had a stage 2 which didn't bother me because their doctor said I was genuinely ill and therefore I couldn't really be sacked for it (they really do have to prove you weren't ill)

Anyway, to cut a long story short, my problem was solved and I think it's at least 18 months since I had a day off sick. I know what you are thinking and no, they didn't tell me I was no longer on a stage 2 or a stage 1. In fact I'm sure that according to their records I'll still be listed as on a stage 2.

It's never the case that we need to prove that you are not ill. If you say that you are ill then you are( we are not doctors). It's how long for that makes the difference.

royal mail managers are giving out warning no matter what it make no difference what reasons or how long of absence it is a simple procedure you follow what your AGM tells you give em a warning full stop.
