Excuse the pun!
I worked in a supermarket for 17 years as a baker and finally leaving was the best thing I ever did. Anyone suggesting you get s job at Tesco or mcdonalds obviously have never worked in that environment, I have and it sucks. Also I was paid less as a skilled baker which requires a lot of training than I am now as a postie which takes 3 days training! Go figure!
Good luck with the interview, just be enthusiastic and say you live the outdoors, meeting people and walking!

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

Re: post person interview
sorry you did'nt get the job leeroy
i'm in the same boat and now have to wait a month before re-appling
they did'nt mention a waiting list this time ?
the email said wait six months but i rang them up and they said ignore that and re-apply in a months time.
another option might be to apply for xmas casual work as this would be experience and a foot in the door but it is £ 2 per hour less !!
anyway we can but keep trying -- at least we now know what to expect at the interview !!
