With the current attitude of the RM managers are you sure it wouldnt just be 4 or 5 posties from each DO made an example of? : :sad

What are they going to do George? If anyone says they won't be able to finish in their time our DIM often says, "That's going to be a performance issue then...we'll have to do something about that!" But what do they actually do? I thought they had to come out with you and "Coach" you about better working practices so that you might be able to improve? :hmmmm
In our Office it normally amounts to the Postie taking all the mail out anyway (having had his moan) and the Manager not having to do anything..so he gets away with it for another day! :arrrghhh

I am the last person to say, "Grow a pair," a saying I hate! But Posties really need to be made aware of what they have to do and what they don't have to do. They then need the confidence and support from their Rep, and fellow posties, to simply work correctly. Some Offices seem to manage it better than others!

Suppose it's easy to toss the ball into the CWUs court and ask for a statement from them to the effect of: "CWU have become aware of the systematic abuse of it's members terms and conditions of employment, and the wide spread culture of bullying by it's Managers!" However what's new? They don't seem too interested in being Pro-active and I suppose it ultimately boils down to the Posties on the shop floor!

Well the speed limit in our town is now 20mph so the planners better add in more time. :left: :left: :left:

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

These speeds are impossible.

I tested these walking speeds and i could only manage 1.74mph average going as fast as i possibly could.

I defy anyone to get anywhere near close to these speeds.

They are travelling speeds not averages pick.
hct speeds.jpg
As you can see by the table your average during delivery would be 1.21mph and overall 1.41mph.

Where's that from Fish, and also i'm guessing that geo/peg would reflect parts of the route/loop where the speed goes down.

I love working for Royal Mail they're such a well organised company! :Very Happy Lets see how much influence reality has on the planning in my Office?

TBO they do seem to have the right tools for the job, BUT if you put,"s**t in..you get s**t out!" That's the major problem for most of us. How many of us have that pain in the ass delivery where the flat has to be accessed by a 150 metre walk down the rear of a parade of shops and up and down an alleyway? The Regular postie can't be arsed to update the A Plus so as as far as the Planner's concerned...Flat 1A goes through the same door as No1 The Parade! :arrrghhh

Why are you taking the trolley up to the houses? They stay on the pavement.

Got that, thanks ft.

I was interested because our original park and loop some two years ago was supposedly based on the Durham experience!!!! That was prior to the IA of 2009........................the video seems to be copyright 2010?? Leaves me wondering if we were led up the garden path................not for the first time of course.
