Personally work to rule by far the best option..... It costs the business a fortune, undelivered mail would build and build, pressure would come to bear from government to sort things out, but members are still able to pay their bills and keep their heads above water. I feel lucky as could afford to go out on an all out strike and would without doubt support it but many younger members would find it very difficult. Whatever action is taken it must be effective and a lot of members simply could not afford an all out strike nowadays and it would quickly frazel out with RM coming out winners then we could get ready!!!!!!!.......
Work to rule does not just mean no overtime. We all talk but I feel quite sure not one of us however strongly we feel do the job 100% to the book, that is when work to rule will cripple RM if we do everything 100% inline with their rules i.e every bag be to the correct weight (drop bags, pouches etc), every pouch put out for vans, make up as many pouches as you can for vans to convey to you in line with their rules, no unnofficial bag drops, if not enough drops, sit and wait for them to bring it out to you, no coming in early, no private cars on delivery, no looking at the mail whilst walking etc, etc, etc. The none use of private cars alone would cripple our office, it would just grind to a stop......
Work to rule would take discipline and commitment but if even 90%were on board, it would have the most effect and be the most frustrating for management to deal with in my opinion.
One day strikes...... Absolute joke, only achieves savings for RM, they can make us look the bad guys in the eye of the public and limit the cost of the strike financially when posties take 2 days mail on return next day for perhaps 1 day +1&1/2 overtime

. It's a damn sight harder to turn public support against the postie for following RM's rules.......
