These are the one thing in all of the last agreements that have engineered a yes vote. We should be looking at a major overhaul of benefits including basic pay, pension rights, sickness and health benefits, not a measly few quid for 1 year which once paid is spent and gone. A proper pay and benefits deal built in with a fair and reasonable work load backed by proper health and safety initiatives. Not a lot to ask for in the 21st Century.
agree
I personally despise lump sums, they are basically bribes.
its morally wrong to buy agreements offering poorly paid workers a lump ( £500 say )
if they agree to a slightly longer round etc,(for evermore)!
i have no problem with share of profits or bonus based on productivity thats in everyones interest
but asking worker to change there terms and conditions of work for cash should be illegal.

What needs to happen is for someone on any future negotiating teams to join in here on RMC, start threads & post updates on the negotiations,
And how many regular posters are there on RMC?
That would be like letting Larry Loudmouth run the Union meeting in the DO.
And then people who aren't union members deciding union policy? People who don't work for RM deciding CWU policy?
People who have crossed picket lines deciding union policy?

It is a constantly recurring theme on here that the membership only vote yes to agreeents for the financial incentives dangled before their eyes. I have never met anyone who has said they did that. Maybe they vote yes to agreements because they think they are in their best interests to do so.
There are more regular posters on RMC than there are members of the PEC. At least Larry Loudmouth and Shrinking Violet get the opportunity to have their say on RMC. Headquarters normally won't even listen to ordinary members.

A lot of people come to RMC for information and don't post.

How many hits has the Postal area of the CWU website had and how many hits has RMC had?

What's the solution?

Revolution.

We need to change the way our senior officials are selected. There needs to be a way that allows candidates to be nominated by ordinary members so that the Branches do not have a monopoly on nominations and it should be one member, one vote.

Get rid of Branch block voting.
