I personally despise lump sums, they are basically bribes.
its morally wrong to buy agreements offering poorly paid workers a lump ( £500 say )
if they agree to a slightly longer round etc,(for evermore)!
i have no problem with share of profits or bonus based on productivity thats in everyones interest
but asking worker to change there terms and conditions of work for cash should be illegal.
