Track code ID

Post by richardhalo »

Hello everyone,
I decided to post here because I'm out of ideas and I need some help if possible.
Recently I bought a product from BookDepository and still haven't received it after 3 weeks - which is strange because any other item ordered from them came in 2 weeks top. So I decided to track it down to see if it got lost or delayed somewhere. So far no luck. From BookDepository was dispached on March 7th and the tracking code they gave me is somehow useless. I found that for sending they use Royal Mail, which uses a different kind of package ID used for tracking (example - AA000100019GB). Now that is the kind of code that I need to track my product down. So far BookDepository wasn't able to provide me with that kind of information (which is weird) and I can't get in any contact with Royal Mail (email or by phone).
If someone can help me regarding this issue, please send me a PM and I'll give further details.
Thank you.

What do you mean by the tracking code being useless? Do you mean it does not work or that your item has tracking only for when it is signed for as being received?

I notice that your IP shows you as a Non UK customer what you need to do is use the number the sender sent you on the RM track and trace website that should give you an idea when they handed it over to your mail provider.

I tried to use that but it's useless since I don't have that type of code. This is the code that BookDepository gave me - BDG-670-0475540342 and it's used just to see when the package was dispatched. And since there are no email contacts for Royal Mail and not being able to make an international call, I'm left out of ideas.

You follow them then send a @Royal Mail tweet

for instance @Royal Mail - Need help international item missing

they use tweetco I think so they will see your message - they certainly saw mine when I sent them one. They now follow me

Twitter was no success so far in responding me, but on someone's tweet I found (let's say) a useful address for contact: http://bit.ly/fijKoN" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;. I wrote all the details needed but somehow it gives me an error for the postal code - a valid postal code must be entered. I have the valid postal code for my street address, yet it gives me the same error. It's hopeless. :cry

in fairness it's up to the sender to chase things up like this, in this instance I would contact Book Depository and let them know that you haven't received your item. They will more than likely send another one out to you. The would then raise the issue with Royal Mail.

The Book Depository (at least, their distribution function in the SN/OX/RG region) haven't been paying for their international posting items at various points in the last months so there is a good chance it's been caught and held/returned to them until they pay for postage. I suggest you contact them and ask what is going on!

I got in contact with BookDepository but got no answers so far. I told them to use a different postal service - such as DHL. If this time doesn't work I'll return to amazon.co,uk - more expensive but way more trust worthy.

It really is up to them to prove delivery I'm afraid and you would be entitled to a full refund. But another one to mark off as unsuitable for shopping with due to their lack of customer service it seems :arrrghhh
