3. If the employee is placed on a rehabilitation programme in a different office the employee should be reimbursed for any excess travel costs in line with business travel policy. Where an employee is placed on a rehabilitation programme at a different office and resumes to full time* hours, any additional travel time incurred in excess of 30 minutes per day should be discounted from the full time* duty hours rather than claimed as single rate overtime. ( Travelling time of less than 30 minutes per day is disregarded).
(*by full time it means your full contracted hours)

I shall DEFINITELY have to look into that, fishtank - thanks. Can't help notice it's 2001 though, is that still current after 10 years ? Wonder if it's changed in the last 5 years ?
[quote="krussel"]Question :

Have you been employed for more than 5 years ?

And is the Plymouth & East Cornwall bit relevant ?
As I said, Monday they were happy with my travelling time being included but apparently the Area Manager's beak appeared Tuesday morning and "they" were told "no more". There is an almighty furore going on at the moment, in my area, about budgets being blown. Union rep seemed to agree that it wasn't unreasonable that travelling time wasn't part of the working day. He did say mileage / expenses should be paid though, (so ?? /) and they subsequently backtracked on that.

tried to show a hard copy to one of the duty managers yesterday but he didn't wanna know ("no, no, you must tell your manager [at my usual DO], so I gave it to the rep at my current office. He spoke to another rep this morning who's going to my usual DO next week to tell'em there - ruckshuns (sp ?) will follow - BUT the rep did say it's worded so it looks like it only applies to full timers (hence your asterix ?), and that'll be their get out as I'm part time.
How'd you know it does apply to part time too ?

It makes the distinction because you may be on amended hours because of your rehab programme.
You cannot claim travelling time if your hours have been amended...i.e shortened due to re-hab.

I can tell you 100% that this agreement applies to a part-timer working their full contracted hours because anything else would be a case of unlawful discrimination.
You cannot treat a part-timer differently based purely on the fact that they are part-time.
Your rep should know this...and should make sure your manager does too.

Fishtank was there when I needed him, and I appreciate it.
You may only get a hotxbun at Easter, some get one all year round ... :cool
There's at least one [postie] who thinks otherwise :dance but here, on this forum - who the f*** cares. :whistle

Thank-you, hotxbun, for posting this. I'm in a similar predicament. I'm on rehab (and failing it) the DOM is dropping hints that he's going to send me to the nearest MC,("because you can still do some work for RM"). I say 'hints', they're as heavy as tombstones falling into place. Thanks to this, I'll know how to deal with it.
And thank-you, fishtank, for posting the official agreement. I'll download that in readiness for the talk. Ooh, he's gonna hate me. :Very Happy
Just spilt stain-remover down my shirt. Now how do I get that out?
