From my experience unit reps do their best but they are let down by the arseholes who come in early, run around with overweight bags and use their cars on delivery.
This more than anything hampers the job of a unit rep and has absolutely nothing to do with Billy, Dave, burgers or ill-fitting suits.
Arseholes that have ALWAYS come in early, run around with overweight bags and used thier cars on delivery you mean? Where the job was job and knock and there was nothing wrong with it until recent years, it was accepted practice and all part of the job. The union leadership hasn't won a good deal for its workers for decades, long before the "do your job properly" witch hunt began.
How is it acceptable to you that a union leadership can recommend a deal where half the workforce get shafted just so the other half can be happy?

Where even with full membership support and many strikes, the best deal the union leadership can come up with is exactly what the RM management wanted?
Blame the workforce all you like but you are naive to think that that's the reason we are in this mess!
