Because its a functional based supplement not an activity based one. All the other functions within RML get them as well, different ones and different values but they should all get them.westham67 wrote:If its a delivery supplement why do staff who do not deliver get paid it?

The idea is that the £50M or the delivery supplement will go onto basic pay, well that's the idea anyway.shepherdess wrote:Are we only tied to a 3 year deal so at the end everything is up for negotiation? Dave Ward has clearly said the payment is for ever and will not be taken away.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

So they wont take it away but if the d2d market goes through the roof we get nothing. I cant understand why they didnt just remove the cap and keep the payment the same everyone happy more for us more for them. But now more profit for them and nothing for us fair!!

The reason being, and please note it is from the CWU ,was because eventually they would all go in one sleeve so you would only get paid for 1.shepherdess wrote:So they wont take it away but if the d2d market goes through the roof we get nothing. Urban myth that.
2007 deal froze ESA for exisiting staff so new entrants did not get it. The 2007 deal said it would cease with pay restructuing but if that did not take place grandfather rights would be retained. 2010 deal had the afore mentioned pay restructuring it was voted in so ESA went. We the membership voted ESA out of existence.

No it wasn't Daz...that was the final position after Royal Mail threatened to pull the lot with the Network 2007 changes to start times.Big Daz wrote:feduppostie wrote:they also said ESA was forever

Urban myth that.
The original position was,,,,,
A message from Billy Hayes, General Secretary and Dave Ward, Deputy General Secretary (Postal) from 2007.
"Early shift allowance in delivery will be permanently retained".
good times, bad times you know I've had my share

Re: The Revision/D2D
I would like to know where this particular urban myth started because as Postman and others repeatedly say - MCs don't get a delivery supplement as they don't work in the right FUNCTION.MisterPostie wrote:Obviously everyone in the mail centres did because they get money for doing nothing.
