Ebay Nightmare!

Post by semele »

Hello

My first post!

Won ebay item that was sent 2nd RD on 6th December.

Decided to open Ebay dispute on 21st Dec as the item had not arrived. Paypal refund pending till tomorrow (4th Jan).

I also had another issue with it being not as described as I found this out later, but that's not relevant here.

Phoned RM and asked what happens if it arrives as I no longer want the item. I was told to refuse it.

It actually arrived today. Discussed with the postman I was going to refuse it. He wrote Refused. Low and behold the track and trace is now stating:

" We have tried to deliver your item from our ***** Delivery Office before (time) on 03/01/11 and we have left a while you were out card.

You can arrange a redelivery online, call the number on your card to arrange a re-delivery, or collect the item from your local enquiry office by bringing your card and proof of identification and address. "

Is this a glitch? He never gave me a card or anything.

Advice appreciated.I just want my money back and the item to go back to seller.

Thank you.

Why? How was your mail deliveries during that time?

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

Yes it arrived today unfortunately!

My other mail deliveries have been OK. I know the guys well in the sorting office and have been in contact with them regularly about this item. I was told they had an awful lot of back log packages, so I presume it was there.

Then why did you put in a dispute? Not the senders fault then is it?

They probably have a few things that it shows up as on the website after delivery or attempted delivery, they probably never thought to add a "refused" notification. As long as the sender put a return address on he/she will get it back.

No it isn't the sellers fault, but there is another issue here that is not RM related and it is the item is not as described. So I wanted my money back anyway.

I am a reasonable person and would have waited otherwise.

it will be if refused, as long as he put a return address on it, or else he won't ever get it. Personally I'd have accepted it and re-posted it back myself so there are no comebacks.

I checked the return address which is there and I've been in phone contact with the seller about it.

Will phone up my sorting office tomorrow just to clarify.I have also provided the phone number to the seller too.

Just one more question, please.

I sent a friend something on 14th Dec 2nd RD.

Item AH*******GB was posted at ****** on 14/12/10 and is being progressed through our network for delivery.

I know my friend received it on the 18th.

Why is it not shown as being delivered?

Thank you.

Sound like the postie could not be bothered to get a signature,it's wrong but some do it that way.

Back to ebay then. If you had a naughty buyer who said the item had not arrived and it really had, would RM have an internal record that it had arrived?

Thanks.

With regards to 'recorded's' they are not tracked and are only scanned when/if the postie gets a signature.

So,if you sent me something and i did not sign for it yes i could lie and claim i have not received it and RM would be none the wiser.

So these unscrupulous posties can cost the RM quite a bit of compo.

Just like unscrupulous sellers who list something NWOT when it is Used.

Thank you for everybody's prompt replies. I've been scouring the internet for answers and happened upon this site.

Now I will just worry about that pending paypal refund. Not long to go.
