Spedley wrote:I think we I should emphasise that although there are strikes, Special Deliveries should be mostly unaffected. I believe they take a seperate path to normal mail and as such they should avoid posties and the strikes.

Lots of people on here seem to object my opinions but I do think that Special Deliveries are an essential service to the public and we should allow them to be delivered as normal. I've lost hundreds through striking but when the general public are moving house etc they need a deivery service. It doesn't do our cause any good if a poor family of five is in a B&B for 3 days waiting for documents. (for example)

The guarantee for special deliverys during the IA is cancelled.
Now not sure in what way, whether it's just when the delivery offices are out or through the whole process.
Because at the mo we have mail centers out on a different day to us.

Best thing to do during 'strike week' is tell your customers you will send it but not sure when they will be delivered.
As stated in here Managers will try to deliver them on delivery offices strike days, but if they're like my manager they'll only do a few.
But the next day they WILL be done.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

Mail centres on strike from 1900 Thursday 9th August (no unofficial strikes AFAIA at the moment) so it looks like it should be plain sailing if everything goes right. The ones that are striking twice this week I think went out last night. In my area all Prios have been delivered even when we are out.

That means it's at the Mail Center i'm sure of it,it's not in the DO yet,it will be in the morning though.
As rule RM are s**t hot about these and 99.8% get delivered next day.
Although on the day of a DO strike this figure will go down for the reasons i mentioned before.
But you WILL get it tomm.

As for the other bit,i aint had 1 tip since i've been on deliverys
