Cheam, Surrey 1st class - 10 days delayed - Please advise

Post by mashup »

Hi there,

From those of you with more in the business knowledge than me, can you advise me whether the delay that im currently experiencing on a parcel delivery is normal, considering the situation lately?

So, a parcel was sent 1st class to me from Canterbury, posted on Monday December 13th. The delivery address is Cheam, however its been a week and 3 days since the posting date, and still no sign of it!!

The strange thing is that other parcels sent from Canterbury to me, more recently (the 17th & 19th Dec), have arrived! I dont understand. Ho has this happened?

How come parcels sent a few days ago have arrived, and yet one sent a week and a half ago has not? Is it lost?

I need to move quickly on this, as a christmas present backup plan may be needed.

Can any of you helpful people please shed light on what the possibilities are of my parcels absence?

Alot of question marks!!! I do apologise. There is only really 1 question at hand though, Where's my package????!!!????!!!

Cheers,

Malvern

it will probably be in the backlog along with my packages .... what you have to understand is royal mail concentrate on the recently posted mail and give the mail in the backlog a low priority as it is already late ..... i don't agree with it ... but that is the way the company deals with the mail

It'll be held up in the backlog.

You will get the packet, today I delivered packets dated from 8th to the 18th December so it will come.

Thanks for the info about the backlog, and the re-assurance for my sanity. So it's all a bit of a jumbled up delivery free for all on delyayed packages, regardless of date entered into the backlog? Is that about right?

The new packets are handled before the backlog items, those items are put into the system when ever they can so there is now real order, sorry.

So there's every chance that if it was caught in the backlog, that it could even arrive next year?

There's always that chance but there's also a chance that it'll come tomorrow.

Wasn't there a postman convicted of theft in that area just recently? I know I have had a parcel go missing sent to Sutton, which is where I believe said postman was based - is Cheam covered by the same DO?

Good memory http://www.royalmailchat.co.uk/communit ... on#p338426" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Looking at google maps though I think both come under EPSOM DO - so its possible but unlikely

TBH if its a no show I would contact the Delivery office after Christmas now - and try and speak to the main manager - its possible that the light fingered bastard did knick your packet (unlikely but possible) and see what they recommend.

I hope they send him down for a few years its scum like him that drag us all down. :mad :mad :mad :mad
