Hiya, i'm trying to establish whether or not an ebay item i purchased on the 4th of november has been lost or not........
It was sent out from Indonesia on the 8th of November 2010 and I have tracked it through EMS which says it has left outward OE. its now the 23rd december and still nothing. i live in the south east, where yes we have had some snow but as has the rest of the country.
Since then I have seen two other members who have bought items from the same seller who have already recieved theres much faster than me who also live in the uk.
Do you reckon its snow related? or lost..........
Cheers for any help, Shaun (SE England)

Have you tracked it to actually arriving in the UK? I'd imagine it'd have to go through customs too.
However, I'd contact the seller and ask for a refund, unless they can prove it's been delivered. I usually allow 3 weeks for delivery from overseas so I think you'd be entitled to claim a refund due to non arrival.

yes.......it said two to three weeks delivery :( i have tracked it, and it apparently hasn't been scanned into the uk yet. he has offered me a refund if i dont get it soon.
However, it was due to arrive just as we got the first hit of snow in the south east at the end of november. do you think it could be at the bottom of the pile?

It should be scanned into the country at the airport so it may not have even arrived in the UK, let alone made it onto the Royal Mail parcel mountain!Shaun-sharky wrote:yes.......it said two to three weeks delivery :( i have tracked it, and it apparently hasn't been scanned into the uk yet. he has offered me a refund if i dont get it soon.

I'd ask for a refund, you've allowed plenty of time for delivery and you're more than covered by ebay policy to get a refund from him, especially as it can't be proven it's even arrived in the UK as yet.

I don't know where you live lol But there are several routes they can take. However, if it had made it into the country, I'm sure it would have been delivered by now. It would have arrived before the bad weather and, even with the bad weather it would have made it through by now.Shaun-sharky wrote:do you know if there is any way i can find out which royal mail depot it might have been sent to if its in the uk without being scanned?

Yep thats the route its taken - Jakarta - Frankfurt - London - I think direct flights are rare where post is concerned from Jakarta - In fact when I was in the far east 20 years ago direct flights even from Hong Kong were only about once a week.
The Flight Code (EY0471) means its an airline called Etihad Airways - Customer reviews don't appear good for them
So its possible (if it arrived safely) it should have gone through HWDC (this is at Heathrow) and then it would have been scanned at sent on to the MC and then the local DO for the post code. Its also possible it might have go to Mount Pleasant in London if HWDC diverted it but it would have gone to to your local office via the same route.

Possible but extremely unlikely as it looks like from what you quoted it went through then between 10 and 13 Nov and IIRC it was OK back then. I think TBH its probably gone missing at some point between Jakarta and London (possibly even Abu Dhabi) and I think after such a long wait your best bet is to make a claim.Shaun-sharky wrote:thankyou very much, would you say it is possible that my parcel is still in europe in backlog? ive heard that Frankfurt has recieved snow....
Basically as everyone has been hinting its likely some baggage handler on the route to From Indonesia to Germany has lifted it. :
