Post to USA

Post by mimz »

Hello
I'm hoping someone can help me!
Does anyone know what the situation is with sending parcels to USA at the moment?

I sent a small packet out on 30th November using Interntional Signed for service. I've used this quite a few times and generally they arrive within 8 to 10 working days and I've never had a problem. But I've had an email from the recipient to say that it still hasnt arrived (21st Dec 2010)

I've checked my tracking nmber on RM site and it says:
Your item, posted on 30/11/10 with reference RJ******GB has been passed to the overseas postal service for delivery in UNITED STATES OF AMERICA.

I also checked on USPS tracking and that says:
Status: Origin Post is Preparing Shipment
We have received notice that the originating post is preparing to dispatch this mail piece

I presumed that it was in States but the lady in question got her post office to check and they said it hasnt left UK yet, that's as of 21st December?

I read the RM announcement on the site re: security measures etc but can it still be in UK?

I've since sent 2 standard sized letters and they've been delivered in super swift time?

Thank you in advance for any help or light you can shed on this for me!

It will be over there then,it's in their hands now.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.
