So what was their response? and more specifically The CWU,how long can we accept the tail wagging the dog? they aredingo wrote:
By the way I have criticised to their faces both Royal Mail and the CWU at national level for this lack of information.
running out of excuses and we are running out of time.
Not so long ago the mention of implementing revisions at xmas would have been shouted down and ridiculed by Dave
Ward,so why dosnt he and the rest stop backtracking and start leading their members out of this mess.

Re: So what went wrong?
They cannot lead them out of the mess because they lead them into it with all the pageantry they could muster, drums and whistles, deal of the century, despite the misgivings of many on here and the deterioration of pay and terms and conditions.....................the great failing was in the absence of a "Plan B" the CWU was quite happy to go along with whatever Royal Mail wanted.Danelectro wrote:So what was their response? and more specifically The CWU,how long can we accept the tail wagging the dog? they aredingo wrote:

Re: So what went wrong?
I think even with walks that shouldn't be too long, they are seriously underestimating the amount of packets/recordeds/specials etc, as well as the fact that splitting walks into lots of bags takes more time anyway.coxie wrote:Park and Loop is a good idea in theory, the only trouble is they are making the duties too long and are ballsing it up, the managers are useless they have no idea
Add that onto the much shorter prep times you get, as well as regular late trips from the MC delaying that prep (always has been and always will be an issue) and you get people out until it goes dark (the stupid ones anyway)

steps on the street cos we are at level bloody 3
Aye i did hear that in the bar at TUC conference Ward kept reminding reps it was the only deal on the table and
if he had to get back on the podium and tell us all again he would.
So no, not expecting them to lead us out of the mess, but thats exactly what they should be doing and thats exactly what
they are paid a kings ransom to do.
I do wonder what it takes to get some senior reps in this union angry ,unless im missing something most of them are in the same boat as us and if they think otherwise they really do need a shake.

Re: So what went wrong?
or example TBT in an early thread listed a number of revisons which he believed were failing and listed Rayleigh but I have been told that is not the case by people on the ground, so without either Royal Mail and CWU reviewing the offices which have thuse far gone in then how does anyone know if they are failing ?;
I work just up the road from Rayleigh and I know for a fact it is not working as our managers have been over there to do walks.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

I very much imagine that the powers that be see failing and teething troubles to be addressed under the PiR process as two different things.
Failing is what teething troubles turn into if no action is taken under PiR.

The "teething troubles" are serious enough for our local MP to become involved and our office has been the subject of no less than 3 newspaper articlese since the revision began. So I would suggest that these are serious problems not "tt".
