Tend to stop at about 10 per week - was told that after 10 the rate goes back to "normal time" ...custard wrote: do you do enough OT to make 40 hours then stop? (or 39 hours if you office is now 39)
As far as i know there is no agreement for banking hours, but to do overtime for basic pay ............ mugsJimmy Carr`s laugh wrote:

He does let people start an hour early to do ips though, and then when theyve done 40 mornings he gives them a week off
You're already at "normal" time until you've completed 40/39 hours................you'd get an enhanced rate from 40 to 50.RedBagMan wrote:Tend to stop at about 10 per week - was told that after 10 the rate goes back to "normal time" ...custard wrote: do you do enough OT to make 40 hours then stop? I can! It would be when the union was negotiating hours for christmas pressure and each person got 2 hours per day GUARANTEED and we were already on a 42 hour week over 6 days .......so that would be 54 hours at enhanced rates ................not that I worked those hours you understand but I certainly got paid for them......those were the days. There was never a letter or parcel left unsorted or undelivered throughout...................mind we have progressed since thenfishtank wrote:...and then a reduced rate after 50.dvbuk55 wrote:

I see what your saying, but times have changed, management are being more forceful on its employees to get the job finished on time, but in the real world it doesn't happen like that. I live within my means and don't rely on the overtime as much i used to.redspartapost wrote:now i dont want to fall out with anyone, but it seems there are a lot of ppl on here who hate there job and royal mail (just work your hours, dont help the enemy on a sunday,i happen tol ike my job and my customers and if i go a bit over my time on abusy day i will forecast ot and claim it next day happy knowing i,ve given my customers their packets and mail .however if the boy has a dental appointment or something that means i need to finish on time i will work to my time.rant over back to my red wineer mean coffee
Now this is a tricky point because i happen to know that BT CWU members are having a real fight over contractual overtime due to the severe weather.cow post wrote: Overtime is optional, but sometimes i think management want people to do overtime on a compulsory basis.
