Stick around for a while, and you'll see this one was of a quite good standard. Don't know about the Express though.....Daily Sport, maybe..?I see Axeman you have posted on 1,524 occasions. Let me assure you, this was not one of your better ones. Spelling was dreadful, punctuation, equally as bad, if not worse, and as for the arguments you put forward, on a par with the sort of blinkered nonsense you would expect to read in the Daily Express.

This is the reverse of that argument though. The "old racism card" is usually used by workers of various minority's to gain an advantage. The original Article posted by teebs makes no mention of a racist agenda by RM or even a suggestion of it by the aggrieved party. I believe Clash's point is that some posters on here are using "business needs" as an excuse not to support a position that perhaps they would have in another situation may have some merit.Tman wrote:[Could be, but the old racism card has been played so often by so many that it's been devalued to the point of clichéd parody.Or some people are hiding their racism behind a business/economic need.
"Wolf" has been cried too many times....
You in fact may have been saying the same its hard to tell from your post.

I think you meant sectarian:

2. Adhering or confined to the dogmatic limits of a sect or denomination; partisan.
3. Narrow-minded; parochial.
n.
1. A member of a sect.
2. One characterized by bigoted adherence to a factional viewpoint.
As to the majority of Asian being Sectarian in their out look - well having lived in Hong Kong for 3 years and seeing the integration there the assertion in my own experience does not ring true. However, in the UK, it may be a different matter but is that the fault of the immigrants themselves, or a reaction to the welcome they receive, and their treatment when they do settle down. Perhaps they feel safer in a community that shares their values rather than in one that attacks it.
Yes there are both bad and good in Islam, just as there are in any group you care to name, how about Posties or Trade Unionists. However, I have never come across a single group which is either all bad or all good, each individual should be treated with respect they earn themselves, no matter what labels can be applied to them. Do we have a problem with immigration in this country, IMO Yes, but its a Political or Organisational problem not a ethnicity or religious one and those that believe otherwise are IMHO deluding themselves and are helping to perpetuate the problem.
Well I don't want to get involved in this thread but .......integration in HK?...............integration with who exactly. I too spent 3 years there and I can't say I noticed any integration - 99.9% of the population was of Chinese origin. I was a soldier there and there was only one kind of integration..........

I was there 86 to 89 and Based in Sek Kong in the New Territories. About 95% are Chinese but there are also Filipino , Japanese, Indian, Nepalese, Indonesian, Thai and Pakistani people living in HK that make up a significant % of the remaining 5% and as far as I know there are no ghettos or neighbourhoods known for a particular ethnic group, (unless you count married quarters for the brits
) and even the Filipino gathering in Statue square on Sundays seemed quite cosmopolitan.

Satanic verses?? Salman Rushdie has publicly admitted that the Satanic verses was a work of fiction which was dreamed up by a fictional character in the book which he made up. (if that makes sense

Re: Royal Mail staff in Ramadan holiday row
You obviously don't know your facts axeman. The death threat was issued by one man who was not even part of mainstream Islam - he didn't represent the views of 1.5billion Muslims, but a minority in Iran. You're quite welcome to condemn him as I would, but don't tarnish a whole religion with one mans views, otherwise every religion can be brought down based on a followers words or actions.axeman wrote:mearly used the words 'satanic verses' did i mention salman rushdie .....oh and does the fatwa still exist ?? now just what was that for and didn't the meaning of that mean a death threat ....peacful at least some of them are peaceloving eh !!

Re: Royal Mail staff in Ramadan holiday row
Ok, let's try to get this straight here: There's a big difference between The Bible or Quran, and the Relgious teachings that so many groups use, to fit their own agendas.
There have been many wars fought in the name of Christianity. Desite the Bible specifically telling us to be peaceful. It's not common anymore. But it's just a case of the wrong type of person, geting into a position of power in a Religion.
The Quran, like the Bible, teaches people to be peaceful. Not aggressive!

Are 2 Centuries of wars not enough of an example for you?Tman wrote:Other than the Crusades, name some then? There have been many wars fought in the name of Christianity.
Then there was Emperor Constentine's victory in 312.
There are of course more. But I haven't the time to look for more at the moment. But if you look, you'll find them.
I'm just glad that Christians don't fall for that bs anymore.
