Then it was unneccessarily harsh! :no no
I don't agree with Dingo's attitude to the 2010 deal. But to attack him like that is totally uncalled for. Personally, I have a great deal of respect for him, for sticking to his principles. Anyone can stand up for what they believe in, when there's plenty of support. But it takes a strong, principled person to stand up for what they believe in, when they're out on a limb like Dingo. I still think he's wrong to support the deal. But as a person I hold him in high regard.

If you were at a meeting, or on a Forum, where everyone else supported the deal, and were attacking anyone who didn't support it. Would you still be able to argue so consistantly against it? :hmmmm
I don't know if you could or not (I don't know you well enough to know one way or the other). But many people would end up going quiet, under such opposition. If they didn't have people to back them up. :hmmmm

Well obviously the vote was agreed by majority and so where does the minority come into it.

There is one thing I would do as I always do - tell it as it is,tell the truth, don't fudge the issue and defend the indefensible.

People seem to forget that these full time reps are put in place by the membership for the benefit of the membership not to maintain a self serving organisation.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

That's true. But there's often a difference, between what a Rep believes is right. And what they do for their Members. It's a situation I've come across from time to time, with my local Reps. They've argued against what we've asked them to do. But when they've left the meeting. They've gone to Management, and fought for what the majority want. :hmmmm

Now, I don't know who Dingo really is, or whether he's a good Rep (does what the majority of CWU Memers ask him to do). Or a bad one, who just does what he wants (sadly, there are a few who are like that). But please remember: this Forum is for people to discuss the issues. So if he disagrees with the majority, then thats no reason to stop aguing his case.

Sadly, This deal was of course voted in by the majority of Members who could be bothered to vote. So actually, he does have a mandate to fight for the deal, in this case. So no-one can accuse him of not representing the Members, by arguing the case for the 2010 deal. But even if he didn't have a mandate. He's got every right to argue for what he believe is right on here. Just as you and I, have the right to argue against it. Even though we were outvoted in the Ballot. :hmmmm

The more people turn on / engage the better with the info provided there is no excuse IMHO :wave :wave

Totally agree Glenno, problem is it's much easier to stand on the sidelines and blame someone else if everything isn't perfect according to Yourself then actually get involved Yourself and as you say make the best of agreement for whole office sake not only oneself.

You have got hold of the wrong end of the stick mate I have been agreeing with you all the way.
When I was saying "Yourself" I was getting at the people who don't get engaged and involved as you were pointing out in your posts,Not "Yourself" as in you Glenno.
Hope that has cleared it up
