Why should one postie deliver 1500 letters/day and the postie next to him deliver 900 and get the same wage? Answer - because you are paid for the hours you work and not what you do in those hours.
D2D took out 16 hours from our office today for prep and delivery. If you want to do them in your own time that means 16hrs more lapsing (4 more walks) or 2 full time jobs gone. Which of those 2 options would you prefer?
As far as i can make out it all depends on how the IWT is used,my office is set at 100 BSI in IWT.

Just before they implemented the change in D2D they ran the IWT in our office and suddenly everyone had half an hour
more on the walksort and half an hour less to prep their own frame, when the D2D change came in they gave us back 15 mins at our frames!

My office is in the top ten EP in Scotland and has had hundreds of hours taken out every year so if D2D into workload has made no impact in our office then id like to know what we are doing wrong/right?

All this was agreed by the area rep and opposed by office rep. What i still cant figure out is the BSI issue and what is
the agreed BSI to be set for IWT.The union said 100 BSI was not achievable(miss sorts etc) so how come it now is?

That's right, money for nothing :whistle
I would have thought someone with your experience Onaflyer woudn't need to be told that the D2D has feck all to do with the delivery supplement.
How is 0 D2D into workload working out for you by the way.

And B. surely you would have to wait until you see if RM secure less D2D contracts than last year before we decide whether the union played a blinder since the contribution to the delivery supplement from D2D is fixed at last years payout.
And do you know how likely that is?
I was joking - the deal is obviously s**t to anyone with a functioning brain.

As for 0 D2D into workload, it's exactly the same as every other week, nothing extra.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

Our rivals are feeling the pressue of RML lifting the cap and are determined not to lose work to RML, Ive had leaflets from TNT wanting delivery staff for leaflets and the same again from another company. Seeing more bods out and about delivering leaflets.

RML I belive may well see gains in one area wiped out by losses in another.

0 again this week.

I do see at least 3-4 people a week on my walk delivering leaflets out of rucksacks and sometimes vans though, so there is some business there for RM to chase.

Yes, there was one delivering to my street an hour ago. But it's the first time I've seen them in ages.

My door to door today was fine.

The problem will be tomorrow (I am a Float(er) BTW) and the round I do tomorrow had no D2D done on Monday and Tuesday. So, guess what?. All the D2D's have been thrown in!! The usual duty holder is on hols so it's being done on overtime or reserve.

Have already complained that if I am expected to do my 6th everyday then surely others should.

Funny though; Wednesday is a busy day so would expect to hit most doors.

Pissup, brewery and moveable standards come to mind

under new working practice in our office, full time staff must prep, all p/t workers mail and d2d. oh and all part time staff do the lapsing. now im been done, because my d2d were not prept for two days in a row. that put me two days behind with d2d. so come the saturday i had two days worth of d2d still to do. told managers of the problem at the start of the week. so on the saturday morning i told them the reason why. this is the way you want this office to work, so if my d2d are not prept on a monday or tuesday, how do you expect me too start them. since found out im now been done on wilfull delay and not delivering d2d to the specifaction of 7% per day
would like to know why the so called royal mail agreement is not been used as it clearly states "posties should be allowed time to prep d2d as they are now part of there normal workload" managers in our our office state there is enough time for full time posties to prep all p/t walks as well as there d2d and that there is no so called agreement in place as yet. but i think there is. after all we are now just getting a single payment now even if you only got one or 5 d2d

Ok,the proverbial...
Have you a rep,did you speak, what did he say if you did,if you didn't speak why not,if no rep what about others in your office, and lastly, what shoe size are you.
