DURING a break at Hindon’s 4th annual Petanque doubles championship a surprise presentation was made to the village’s much loved postman.

The Lamb Inn lawn on Saturday saw a presentation made by parish council chairman John Robinson to Dick Penson of a silver tankard to mark his retirement as village postman after 26 years service.

Mr Penson was playing in the Petanque championship village class.

Parish council chairman John Robinson explained that Dick Penson would have been presented with a gold tankard if it hadn't been for all the Door To Door leaflets he had delivered to vilagers over the years.
