Re: Example Duty Structure Spreadsheet
Ratio has just gone up in my D.Oo in favour of FT, wonders what a PT leaving can do, especially for the amount of O/T being paid out. It's through the roof at my D.O

Re: Example Duty Structure Spreadsheet
Well that certainly will affect the national average - in fact why not get rid of all the part timers and the ratio will be what it was 15 years ago.Big Daz wrote:Ratio has just gone up in my D.Oo in favour of FT, wonders what a PT leaving can do, especially for the amount of O/T being paid out. Re: Example Duty Structure Spreadsheet
Sorry Daz but our six part-time new starts this week trumps your one part-timer leaving every time....so do you have any more volunteers to redress the balance.Big Daz wrote:Ratio has just gone up in my D.Oo in favour of FT, wonders what a PT leaving can do, especially for the amount of O/T being paid out. What! Hush your mouth ft, who would negotiate all those wonderful duty structures and bring forth those nuggets that make this deal all worthwhile.fishtank wrote:Sorry Daz but our six part-time new starts this week trumps your one part-timer leaving every time....so do you have any more volunteers to redress the balance.Big Daz wrote:Ratio has just gone up in my D.Oo in favour of FT, wonders what a PT leaving can do, especially for the amount of O/T being paid out. And the point is?
Is it a crime to be a FT to PT OPG via a national agreement yet still want to see the majority of duties being FT.
As the leaver is a 32 hour PT rather than a 40 hour FT that helps with the national split.
The ratio of FT to PT duties is currently 1/6th PT 5/6th FT
Even if the PT wanted FT work there is no extra work for them to do, a rather inconveient truth. Of course we could always reduce PT staffing levels and absorb PT work amongst PT duties to make them FT. That would mean job losses though.
Oh dear stuck between a rock and a hard place.

You've hit the nail on the head there Daz,the inconvenient truth is...Even if the PT wanted FT work there is no extra work for them to do, a rather inconveient truth. Of course we could always reduce PT staffing levels and absorb PT work amongst PT duties to make them FT. That would mean job losses though.
Oh dear stuck between a rock and a hard place.
A.Job losses are mainly full-time and mainly in the M/Cs.
B.Part-time staff are mainly in the D.O.s.....mainly less senior and unlikely to be offered VR.
Unless these revisions produce oodles of new work :roll:then how do you move part-time to full-time without reducing your headcount?
And if you do reduce your headcount how do you then protect this 75/25 ratio?
good times, bad times you know I've had my share

Re: Example Duty Structure Spreadsheet
We have 1 X FT vacany and 1 X PT (32 hour floater duty) vacany
We have two FTers both holding duties retiring this year.
For every D.O with less than 75% FT you are going to need another with more than 75% FT
We have 64 staff members at the moment of which 10 are PT.
2,000 + delivery points rapidly being built and occupied
The future for my D.O is?
