dingo wrote:This is not a wind up , but did anyone have to cut off on their delivery due to the inclusion of Door to Door into workload.

I have not had any reported to me in London , and yes there was over 20 London offices who had 4 contracts last week.

If you did cut off , have management decided to do something different next week ?

I can understand the debate about whether someone has lost or not but I want to know outside of a revison whether the inclusion of door to door has meant that you cannot complete your delivery.
What a strange question. ALL cuttting off is due to too high a workload. D2D is part of workload, has been since 1982. So anyone who cut off did so because of too much d2d and/or too much mail and/or too long a duty.

Are you essentially asking does 1 extra d2d increase workload? Does a bear sh1t in the woods?

I prepped 1/6th every day after I had thrown my walk off, complete nightmare trying to fit d2d's in the frame with mail in it. Had 3 this week, how are we going to fit 5/6 in the frame as well as the mail? We had 18 UTC's this week and the d2d's were'nt done on them and only a 1st Class sweep on them yesterday, so anyone on those walks from tomorrow are f****d!
So keep on moving, moving, moving your feet
Keep on shuf-shuf-shuffling to this ghost dance beat
Just keep on walking down never ending streets

Loads in my office unable to complete the d2d's in normal work hours ..result is they are being left so in truth there's not the suggested time by your leaders in which to absorb the d2d's into workload at present. Now in truth what are you going to do 'dingo' as your finger is on the pulse so to speak and aligined to national officers as this scenario is no doubt being played out at lots of offices throught the land

No cut offs in London as they probably still have their 10 hour day 3.5 hr delivery 5.5hr of indoor time I should think there is enough time to absorb D2Ds

London moved to 4 hour deliveries on a 4 day week, but when RM imposed a 5 day week on them decided not to revert the duties to previous sizes and that was a main cause of unrest in London.

I'm from London and i'm on a 4 day week,Daz has got it on the button, well nearly.

There are more non 4 day weeks than there are 4 day weeks in London.

Since the strikes and the interim agreement, getting back our 4 day weeks have been harder with some not getting them back because of the drop in volume.
Those that have got it back some have, permanent Mon/Tue rest day duties with the IPS and prep absorbed, some have a mixture of 5 day week duties as well, some are absorbing the IPS and prep of SA duties, some have now more part timers so obviously IPS and prep are absorbed.

I'm sure dingo could come up with more. The crux of it is there is now a lot more indoor work to do and we are also on 4hr+ walks.

In my office, they seem to want to do d2d as before throw all off on monday and come in ealy

I and a couple of other done it the way it should and my walk did take a little longer but that was also to do with an half hour absorbing.

plus it did seem a little lighter but it is the summer

I am off next week on my waddingtons week :nana

Jessicar dont believe all the hype. There were 34 offices in London with either a 4 day week or 9 day fortnight out of 128 delivery offices.

Royal Mail removed by executive action 26 offices with 4 day weeks. Using the interim agreement we were able to get all the following offices their 4 day week back , Wimbledon, Tooting , Streatham, Islington , Finchley church end , Southwark , Catford , New Cross , Abbeywood , Norwood and Anerley. In addition we have a plan for wilsden , Hyde , Golders Green.

Now the basis for these returning to 4 day weeks were based on improved under the roof productivty increasing to 70 BSI. Of course some offices choose to go to a longer as span as IPS is reducing due to more mech and filling a ten hour day is not easy even based on 700 items all in for IPS and 10 prep rate.

Now in terms of door to door always being in workload , you obviously did not read the annexes to the 1994 door to door national agreement which stated that you could not use door to door as a reason not to complete.

Thanks for your posts and pleased that some of you are being able to get more hours into your office even if its overtime or no absorbtion.

Nope,i am not happy with the arrangements they have sorted out for it,(i was away when they did it) but the maIl volumes are quite low and we could even absorb more of the stuff.

Your next question possibly:''Well why POSTMAN have you not had your say about the arrangement?''
A:Various shininagans going on and i'm losing the will at my place, but that's not for public viewing. :nervous

Yeah I cut off as a result of D2D Dingo.

I'm a floater and never used to do D2D. Now I do 1/6th every day, so I've effectively had around 30 mins added to each duty.

I told the lino that this will cause problems every wed/thu/fri for me - a mumbled response and he walked away.

Nothing has been nor will be done. It's just treated as another cut-off and will be picked up by someone spare or on overtime.

At some point I expect I will have to get into an argument about this.
