With regards local workshop brief has now been agreed along with the geo route video. Divisonal reps will meet with their regional counterparts next week to confrim the roll out. The roll out of the workshops will depend on when your office is due a revision.
Surely everyone is due a non sequenced revision NOW to incorporate the increased workload due to D2D, the HCTs, the CDVs, presumably to save full time jobs, and a sequenced revision when the machines are up and running for their office otherwise when are they going to get the non-sequenced lump sum? There seems to still be a lot of loose ends ipso facto the agreement wouldn't you say? - on reflection YOU probably wouldn't say.

My D.O is getting a non sequenced revision at some point before April 2011, but delivery methods revision is to be done at the same time as sequenced mail revision in 2012 (been some slippage on the date of machines going in at the MC), that is the same for some other D.O's in my postcode area/regional area. So we will have the extra DTD but not Delivery methods

Now I must say tr ra chuck as im off my hols for a week to spend my £300 CS money :dance :Very Happy

Make your minds up,do you want to save jobs or do you want to have an 'easy one away' by knocking the s**t out in a couple of hits.

When all the s**t is done in the middle of the week, don't complain that you've got to carry the lapsing on because you've now got extra time to do it! Including Saturdays!

Agreed.
Doing it all on a Monday or continuing to take it home or any of that sh*t we used to do is suicide.

I would imagine there is likely to be less enthusiasm for doing these D2D when the payment for them is standard and the floater is going to be doing a sixth as well. I get the feeling that managers are at a loss as to what exactly is going to happen on a heavy day and there is a large cut off in the offing - of course all those all too normal eventualities will have been taken care of by shrewd negotiating together with the summer efficiency and D2D into workload. I think it is the local reps who should be paid and not the negotiators.

was told today our office west of scotland have a plan for d2d :left:
they plan to section off parts of frame going downwards ie a wing section to stop having all d2d in one bag.
fair enough but then was told we will take out 4 sections of frame mon 5sections on tue 4 sections wed, thur ,fri
and 3 sections sat.i replied you cant do that your overloading one day were all paid to do d2d reserves floaters whatever
and i will refuse to take extra out on a supposed light tue should be split evenly over whole week.
my observation is they are trying to manufacture hours to stop working to time and not putting hours in to accomodate
extra workload due to d2d.
line mng said he would be happy and could not see any problem with duty holder taking all d2d out forget about floater
just get on with it.
i couldn,t believe what i was hearing absolute joke .i told him we dont get paid for doing extra now he couldn,t understand it
methinks there clutching at straws now.
also spoke with other office mgmt and they came to conclusion its in 2010 agreement its only a minimum of 1/6 of a duty and they can make us take more wtf is going on here
where do we stand on this

I thaught it was one sixth a day, but we would be allowed to "MANAGE IT OURSELVES" as long as they all get delivered in that week. :cuppa

1 x d2d a day everyday = 100% call rate! if you only get then 5 saturday will seem lighter with a less than 100% call rate. The buisness will however push for specific event saturdays so may get 100% call rate Sat anyway. So then it wont take much longer than any other day. Remember Royal Mail are out to prove this is a viable commercial operator so will want us all to work our hours. So fill them up with 100% call rate.

If 100% call rate is in agreed guidelines for d2d I will be amazed to say the least

But the agreement says its up to the walkholder to manage the d2d in a way that they wish. It does not say we have to stick to this 20% thing. Unless the goalposts are being moved again by CWU bigwigs and Royal Mail. Now that would be a surprise NOT!!!

Yes it does pete but it doesn't say you will be credited with a 100% call-rate in a geo-route revision and that is what matters i'm afraid.
If you want to do 1 a day i don't think RM will care but you wont have your delivery reduced because of it.

spot on!
your "pegasus" walk length /time is based on drop rates of 80% say.
if a revision factors in your d2d it will probably give you an extra 20 min of prep per day
and you probably wont get any extra walk time.
I'm a postman-and i know where you live.....

:chuckle Still there is light at the end of the tunnel. Seems like even the DMA acknowledges that blanket mailings are the lowest of the low. Quality brands would not be seen dead indulging in what is perceived as cheap ,down market trashy advertising. If you value your brand name and wish to convey excellence and quality ,D2D is the last option you would choose.
Which raises an interesting question regarding privatisation of RM. Curious positioning of a soon to be sold off brand; down market ;trashy ;cheap; unreliable :chuckle

Just been reading briefly on the d2d guidelines and whats in store for us all.

Up tp 4 items from the 7th of june
Up to 5 items from the 5 of july (to be confirmed)
Up to 6 items from the 3 of jan :nervous

To prep up 6 d2d is of course going to take some time. Time of which some of us might not even have, so what to do? Management will probabaly say you have to take it as its part of your workload, but if thats the case i'll just be leaving a street or two and continue to do my 1/6th of d2d everyday.

It doesn't clearly state of when it comes to bank holidays if the d2d supplement would be increased by losing that one day. At present instead of getting paid 1.67p you would be paid 2p an item.

"Dual prep roles have to insure d2d is prepped for both walks" this is interesting because i don't think any full timer will have the time to prep any d2d does the mean someone on a lower contract would have to prep the d2d. Its seems unfair if this is the case that someone on a lower contract doing the same amount of work getting a lower payment.

Frames should be clearly marked 6ths so both the regular opg and any reserve duty can be quickly identified...now who has the role of showing this information us or the management?

There are so many grey areas that i can see more confusing faces in the office not knowing what to do.
