Well , if that quote wasn't tailor-made for those two numbnuts , I'd go to the bottom of my garden , only theIWW Fellow Worker wrote:He should be religious. Him and the rest of Royal Mail management are clearly identified in Matthew Chapter 23 verse 4. Being very serious here, but two books my dad put in my way were 'The Ragged Trousered Philanthropists' by Robert Tressell and the Bible, both of them life changing. The old feller was a firebrand union man who was always prepared to call down fire and brimstone on strike breakers and bosses.DirtyHarry wrote:Well , if that quote wasn't tailor-made for those two numbnuts , I'd go to the bottom of my garden , only theIWW Fellow Worker wrote:He should be religious. My old man's similar to your Dad , IWW. Union men through and through , and would rather walk over hot coals
whilst drinking bleach, rather than compromise one iota with low-life like the two w*****s postal workers have to contend with.

In the Bible, I love the resurrection story, and hate the crucifixion.
Aye, no wonder....some staff have already built the cross...
I get angry most days, usually when people do stupid things or make stupid decisions. This can be at work or at home. On balance, I am a pretty happy person. Today is great: it is a sunny morning in Toronto.
Shouldn't that be "sunny morning in London"....oh right, you work away from home...
I am a big Starbucks fan; and I always choose fairtrade coffee, usually the cappuccino. To unwind, I would opt for a beach holiday. The Moroccan room in our home in Canada is my spiritual retreat. For hobbies, I have to admit that I used to be a morris dancer, but my knees are no longer up to it. I even used to ring the bells at church.
"knees are no longer up to it"...did you do a delivery????
I would like to get locked in a church with Bobby Moore. He was such a great footballer and captain that I would love to talk to him about leadership. The media was not so big when he was famous; so I don’t think he got as much coverage as he deserved.
hmmm..i know what i'd like to lock you in a church with....

Re: Religious Al
Rumour is that after his failed takeover of BHS Alan Leighton is considering a takeover of the Church of England where he shall replace God with himself and Jesus for Adam Crozier. Unofficial sources say there will be a major shakeup. Crozier hopes to implement a plan of 'MODERNISATION' with a revue of pay being a priority. He believes that compared to competitors vicars are 100% overpayed. Catholic priests and nuns take a vow of poverty therefore do the job cheaper. He also believes vicars are underworked as competitors such as RC, Mormons, Islam and Scientology have entered the lucrative market. Plans are that when vicars visit their flock they could also read their gas and electricity meters and deliver leaflets. This could bring in much needed revenue for the Church.ade@cambs wrote:Repent http://www.churchtimes.co.uk/content.asp?id=41497
Other rumours suggest removing vicars from the pulpit and replacing them with plasma screens where sermons can be delivered by Alan and Adam as well as using the conference feature to hold funerals/weddings/christenings on mass furthermore reducing costs.
There are also plans afoot to move expensive to run churches which are not profitable into branches of WH Smith where people can pop in to buy a mars bar and a newspaper and also have their souls saved. Unfounded rumours suggest that Adam Leightons book may also replace the Bible.
Down with the blackleg, all workers unite.

Brilliant

So keep on moving, moving, moving your feet
Keep on shuf-shuf-shuffling to this ghost dance beat
Just keep on walking down never ending streets
Illegitimi non carborundum

Compatability of religion and business
Whilst an atheist, despite a catholic upbringing - I have respect for peoples religious beliefs and the guidance and support that their respective faiths provide for them and believe that condemnation or ridicule of those beliefs is as much a blow against humanity as racism, sexism or any other type of transgression against particular groups of people.
There, however, my political correctness ends and I would offer the thought that to use a religious association to enhance your standing in business or justify your treatment of others is unacceptable.
Religion is a personal, although not necessarily a private affair and has no place in the workplace nor should it be used as a basis to get at someone (even Allan Leighton) because other means are perhaps not as direct.
I support in every respect our strike and struggle to overcome the failures of our present regime but let's not lose sight of our responsibilities to others and please remember that we are not the bullies here.
Have faith - whatever you consider it to be
