For the record the union met the door to door manager last week and guess what they want to manange any growth in a strict manner and another artificial cap. They have a new map which shows where the parts of the country are where they will get growth in the short term. However they know that whilst door to door is a growing product they cannot open the gates and relaunch the product and then when they get the new products they fail to deliver.
Plus lets be honest some office will have to put in extra hours to cope with the delivery of the items when they go into workload , some will be able to save hours and some may use door to door into workload to support better attendances. Management know that whilst door to door will increase revenue it still will not plug the financial gap of other streams and if they put loads more hours into the office on the new rate of money then their business plan will be hard to achieve.
I am very interested in the statistics to support your claim that two thirds of delivery officers are winners, is that full time and part time, when does the winning streak commence and what about the third that ARE, according to you, losers - is there something about their money that isn't as good as the winners?
This "artificial cap" on D2D, you haven't mentioned what it is, is that nationwide or area by area, and why not make the cap known and add a rider that should that cap be exceeded there will be additional reward added to the delivery supplement? Just a small incentive and if anyone is making £500 a week dingo it is not outside Gods triangle.
Why wouldn't every office need to increase hours to take into account the existing D2D. lovejoy said that they should be prepped in their own time and so it would follow that if that is the case then not only would any new business need to be accounted for but existing D2D as well. It would also follow that if they are already being prepped in existing hours there would be no need to increase hours and therefore no extra work is created and no more jobs saved.
