I work for a DM supplier and need to replicate a Recorded Delivery barcode (supplied on label rolls) onto a DM piece. Rolls of labels are provided in 500's and run sequentially i.e. AG 1234 5550 xGB, AG 1234 5551 xGB .... but I can't figure out how to generate the check digit "x".
Is it a standard format barcode that I could get an algorithm for?
Anyone help please - local reps don't know.

bit of advice, the x as you state is not a check digit, the do run sequentially but you can get 2 on the same roll every now and then which end 5551 2gb then 5551 9gb, but thats not going to be your problem, now there is no reason for you to need an algorithm for you to work them out, basically if you are sending out a large number of recorded delivery items, just call royal mail business they will then issue you with a number range of bar codes think its on an excel spreadsheet to do with as you please, as you cant just simply create your own number range even if its the correct format with the correct numbers because that could be either on another roll that someone else could be using at the exact same time and you will not be able to trace your own barcodes

Re: Recorded Delivery Barcode - Technical Help
Thanks island-boy! They've given me 100's of rolls of labels (to be stuck on front of envelopes) but I couldn't figure out how to get a list of the "raw" numbers to digitally print on the letters.
So, a supplied number range from RM Business and an thermal printer is called for? Sounds OK.... but not the way its been done previously (another supplier). Might stop me dreaming of orange labels and long numbers !!
Cheers
