And I am not saying where as this will give too much away

However I am sure you can wait for the vote results to find out
So let me get this straight in my head.
Your Regional Director asked for feedback from DOMs on whether job security was a priority and the answer was.....yes. :d'oh!
He really earns his money that boy.

Perhaps the 'majority' might change their minds when they get their hands on the complete agreement.
I think you may find the majority of people will see job security as a number one factor after all the CWU and RMG have seen this as a primary concern
Not the primary concern for delivery staff! it maybe in MC's but they are not being offered any, now are they?

Royal Mail feedback on CWU ballots is pointless for a number of reasons.

Firstly they used the same feedback channels for the strike vote and predicted a 'NO' only for a big 'YES' to be returned.

Secondly DOMs are reluctant to tell the truth. For them to report that people are voting no to this agreement would lead to their bosses questioning their management so its easier to paint a rosy picture.

The only barometer so far is the branch recommendations which are by far in favour of a 'YES'

Not long now and we'll all know for sure anyway!

If 99% of members in your branch vote no then I'll give you everything I own! Thats the trouble with this is everything we say is just our 'opinions' based on small snippets of the people we know.

The ballot result will reveal the facts

Well barometers can be wrong mucker.
Especially when they are being continually tampered with by HQ.

I would suggest this accusation could also be levelled at branch and HQ. :hmmmm

There are people in our office who don't like the deal, but they are not members.
There are a lot of people in our office, who in my opinion will vote yes, they are not lying about it they are just not shouting it from the rooftops.

If that is the case then I wouldn't be voting for this agreement. There is absolutely NOTHING in this agreement that GUARANTEES job security - but hey if there is then please point it out - we would be grateful for any ray of sunshine.

Time will tell Belle, but don't forget the views on this forum are a very small percentage in comparison of the whole of RMG and a national vote

And given, after reading through many many posts on this site seem to be a very minor militant few basically the same old few who oppose the agreement

Time will indeed tell, will it be similar to the outcome of the 2007 agreement??

I think your point that the branches are painting a rosy picture is completely false. I've yet to meet one cwu official who has painted a rosy picture. Most think the vote will be close and most branches have recommended a yes vote because they feel that the deal is the best one that will be achieved for a number of reasons.

Nobody is painting a rosy picture - far from it
