It might interest you to know that your local postman is not responsible for setting the postal charges and has no control over the level of service you suffer. I hope this proves enlightening .you increase your charges and lower the service too your customers me included ... i hope royal mail goes bust

Re: Not fit for service
We as in RoyalMailChat do not provide a service. In fact on every page we have this statement posted "We have no affiliation with either Royal Mail or the Communications Workers Union (CWU), except that most of our members work for Royal Mail and/or are members of the CWU."NoService wrote:Hi

Many on here would agree with you and try to help in whatever way they can - Unofficially.NoService wrote:.i must say my service is terrible
Complain to postwatch or the police would be my adviceNoService wrote:most of the time i dont even get mail some days (yes no postman/woman) comes at all

I suppose it depends on how you approach people. They and we would be more willing to help if you did not call us LazyNoService wrote: ..i went into my local sorting office today as a item has not arrived which was sent too me 1st class standard

There you go you don't even give us a chance and call us Lazy in your first post, BTW before you state what we are complaining about from a position of ignorance of the issues perhaps you should read up on the subject we have a few thousands posts on those subjects.NoService wrote:postmen complain over there working conditions (this is an insult in my opinion as there lazy imo)
We post them too see http://www.royalmailchat.co.uk/communit ... rg#p136486" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; , however it does not mean all posties are lazy or thieves. If such logic applied across the board I could say all Manchester residents are arrogant singers who plagiarise songs.NoService wrote:i live in salford and i have seen many articles regarding postmen being taken too court for stealing the mail themselves

Re: Not fit for service
Dont worry it will happen. But unfortunately you wont be laughing. The most likely company to buy us already charges three times as much to post items. You probably will end up paying more depending on how far you want to send it as well. You can also kiss goodbye to getting anything delivered on a saturday. The list is endless. You think the service bad now, just wait......

Re: Not fit for service
Gosh, there's some days I don't get mail either. My postie must be on the take....
Then he brings 4 letters on the one day? What's that all about, I think he saves it up and just delivers to my house on set days!
NOT!!!
Do you really expect to get mail every day? I certainly don't. And am glad when it doesn't come as it's normally bills.
Is there a possibility that the postie can't access your block of flats? Is the entry system working properly? Maybe your flat entry system doesn't get pressed because there is no mail for you? Are you sure that the item was posted to you a week ago? Many people say it's been posted when they know it's sitting in their front room waiting to go to the post office. Have experienced this myself.
As already suggested, if you feel that your mail is being delayed on purpose you should go and report it to the police. I would however speak to the manager of the delivery office first to see if there is any reason that the postman hasn't been able to get into the block of flats.
Now as for the insulting...
I am not a thief, I am not lazy. We don't like thieving postmen any more than you do, as we get people like you, coming on forums like this tarring us all with the same brush. I'm normally the fool who has to deal with this in our office when we get one of these numpties. And believe me, it's no fun dealing with the aftermath of an errant postman.
Royal Mail do police checks on everyone who works for them. Other than that there's not much they can do. There's always one gonna slip through the net.
Now please follow the advice you've been given and don't insult the rest of us hard working posties, k, thnx, bye

Not every person in Salford is a benefits cheat!
You decide!!

I just love people like you.
They make sweeping , ill informed statements, usually because they have nothing better to do.
You cite two examples of thefts by Postmen/women and then tar all posties with the same brush. How intelligent of you.
If you really believe your items are being stolen why haven't you been to the Police ?

Re: Not fit for service
Sorry lads this is one of those people that I call "Drive Byes"
They turn up on the forum now and again being fairly polite in some, but not all cases. Say what they feel about us, usually garnered from sources like the Daily Mail, Sun and Royal Mail "News" releases. The sign out never to return.
I don't mind customers posting opinions, even uninformed ones, but its just bad manners not to log back in again and gives us a chance to change their minds.
Hey Ho that's life I suppose.
