Well i found the whole thing very weird. No real oppostion to the proposed agreement many people left after the 6th/ 7th question. The reasoning regarding the agreement on purely buisness grounds. One alarming revelation was that the Head of Health and Safety wasnt in on the negotiations only one area safety rep. Could that be the reason why we are facing the colapse of the 3.5 hr delivery span?

We are facing the collapse of the 3.5hr delivery span because in some offices with a high ratio of full timers there won't be enough indoor work to sustain an 8 hr day.
If you've got 20 f/t staff and 60 hrs of indoor work it means 3hrs each and consequently a delivery span of 4hr 08 approx on a 39 hr week.
If you've got 15 f/t staff with 60 hrs indoor work it means a delivery span of 3hr 08 approx on a 39 hr week.
Locally (to a certain extent) you decide what you want to do.
In the second case it might be a 4 day week and longer days/deliveries.
The societies of consumption and squandering of material resources are incompatible with the idea of economic growth and a clean planet.

It over ran which may be why some left?

Still going at 2.45 pm despite a scheduled 2pm finish.

A 10 am start would have been better.

On the bright side DK was wearing a trademark pink shirt :Very Happy

Daz - we were hoping for some deep political insight not the sartorial habits of DK.

You make a few erroneous assumptions here clash, one is the FT/PT ratio, the call rate and the addition of D2D in work load which has not been established, the 39 hour week does not come into effect until the Sequenced revision NOT the unsequenced revision which will be immediate. Locally (to a certain extent) the deliveries will be decided by the workload not by consultation. Now next year when the sequenced revision comes into effect - do you think that RM will be looking for more savings and even less hours? I think they will and of course the precedent will have already been set.

One way to combat longer deliveries would have been a much shorter working week say 35 hours now, with a shorter paid break. Not profitable enough for RM? - shame.
