Got to agree in someway to the Cardiff thing, being a Splott boy myself.
All the cash seems to have gone into the "Bay" and other new-shiny stuff.
Now, there's a neglected look to other areas, hence the need for someone to try to improve things, for EVERYONE!
Visting my Dad there a short while ago, 3 local pubs have totally altered; 2 are flats. 1 standing empty. DISGRACEFUL, LOL !

Whoever wants to be voted in, and stick their head above the safety line to be shot at, good luck to 'em. They deserve it, whatever their Nationality/Creed/Race.

Despite there being lots of communication sent by the former Union Rep who has now been ousted everything seems to be very quiet. It seems peculiar that a Rep can send unsolicited mail that offends so many people, then the Union send members a letter stating the claims made by the ousted Rep are lies, and complaints are made to CWU HQ....

Yet there has been no formal announcement made to congratulate the winning Rep on her landslide success...... and no communication about what happened to the former Rep.

Has she been given VR and a little push?

Just wondering why nothing seems to have been done and why the Union are prepared to condone the shocking behaviour of this particular individual. If it was a manager and not a CWU rep I bet you'd have something to say and it would be all bad.

With the 2010 and beyond agreement vote, (yes or no result, it won't matter), practically spelling the end of the CWU, I think ALL eyes at Wimbledon are looking in a completely different direction to yours.

*The person you keep going on about is not a rep anymore.

*They are no longer a union 'official'.

*They are no longer tied down by the IR framework.

The above 3 points would be enough for the union to say, 'well, that's that.'

Fair enough, I understand.

My sister is a counters girl and I'm a postie. I've never met or even heard of the girl who sent me a poster telling me that I should vote for her as she is Welsh and recommended by a local CWU branch. She stated the other candidate was "inferior" which I thought was an unprofessional statement to make, but as I've never met either of them I don't know. Interestingly the branch she claimed recommended her then sent their members a letter stating they hadn't.

All of this seems very strange to me. In my own office respect for the Union is lower than I have ever known it. I've been a RM employee for 17 years and I've never known there be so little respect for the Union and it's opinions. Many times I've heard my colleagues state they would be better off by £15 a month if they quit the CWU as they feel it's a waste of £15 when they are already in a no overtime situation, or on lower money in general.

It seems from my sister's office that the ousted rep is known to some people from many years ago when she was also a counter clerk, she is an example of why members and colleagues feel the way they do about the Union. They feel as the ousted rep has a reputation of sh*gging everything in sight that counters are better of without her. Apparently they are of the impression she only got a Union job in the first place as she was sh*gging someone (he's not a name I'm familiar with but he's known to counters). Apparently she only sent out her poster to the local branch as she has moved on to sh*gging someone there who gave her members addresses. Don't know the girl, her history or anything about her but considering the paying members low opinion of the Union in general I feel it's about time a stand was made. Perhaps the Union should consider moving all the people who shouldn't be involved in representation out. Only professional, dedicated and worthwhile people should be involved.

A big shake up of Union roles might make a difference and help us lead this failing company in a way forward.
