I don't get itnuman wrote:LouBarlow wrote:Saturday's have been the busiest day in our office for months and months, so it will be no real shock. To be honest I'm getting sick of people moaning. If you don't like it, get another job.
By the same token, if you're sick of other workers moaning, why don't you get another job?
I love the job. Always have, always will. Do I think that this is a great deal? No. Do I think we will get anything better? Again, no. I was the same as everyone else, thinking that we were getting screwed, but when you step back and think of what we are paid, and for what we actually do, we don't have it that bad. 20k a year for an unskilled, manual labour job is a decent wage.
We will be working harder, no doubt about it, but let's be honest here, we have had it easy for far too long. The job is moving from a very cushy one, as it has been for years, to just a normal one, where we are going to have to work hard to earn our wages, just as you would in a factory or on a shop floor.
The job is changing. You either accept that or take one of these magical jobs elsewhere, where you expect an easy ride for the same wage we are on now. Good luck with that because trust me, they aren't out there. Be thankful for what you have.
