It was all about doing what your members want, you have a right not to accept a shite deal that is a joke. Some of these AREA /DIV REPS have lost touch with the workforce they are supposed to be representing .But i promise you this THERE DAYS ARE NUMBERD.. WELL DONE TO EVERYONE IN THAT ROOM WHO HAD BALLS TO STAND UP TO THESE JOKERS!!phantomshare wrote:I was at Manchester today (so i hope that dispels some views that i am a manager)
But i will tell you this, on D2D which is the big swaying point on this agreement because of the monetary issue's, what we were told today was that D2D as they we know them are unsustainable, RM will lose contracts or withdraw them from certain regions, I know that some member would like this but would they be as jubliant when there receiving none, would the £20.60 payment seem like a good thing then after the boat had sailed?
I don't know what the thinking behind this branches recomendation is, but if they like the prospect of compulsary redundancies or a part time work force in the future then i cannot understand there logic.
if they were at Manchester i find it hard to believe they would recommend suicide.

I think you hit the nail right on the head there !!disgracednlc wrote:I've had my say you know what you are, At least it makes your job easier when people ask what do you recommend you won't have to use your head, and perhaps you will get voted on next time. if it doesn't get voted in nationally and who knows d2d part of the agreement is altered, it would be a shame if they offered a much smaller deal next time around. It's a shame if you can't put trust in your own union who can you trust.... Your DOM perhaps.

I think most on here are useing there head and discussed this to great length's unlike the sheep that just nod and bow (if the cap fits ) and will take an informed decision when the time comes and not " just toe the party line "

Well you are aptly named - disgraced is what you should be for that statement. These Reps represent the shop floor, not the recommendation of the CWU. You make a statement that is not substantiated by any section whatsoever of this agreement. These Area and Div Reps are a disgrace - lets get them down to the shop floor meetings and express the same sentiments you display on here face to face with the membership they are supposed to represent.disgracednlc wrote:Firstly can I just say as part of the north lancs and cumbria membership, I am absolutely disgraced that you would recommend a no vote to our membership. Also may I add the Clowns that voted to recommend no are the same clowns who have shown no interest as unit reps in turning up to ANY branch meetings nor have they full understood the consequences of their actions and just to add one more thing the guys who are area/div reps in nl/c are top notch, hiding behind a forum is cowardly and typical of the people who voted no. I hope we get the yes vote because if we don't these reps will have to live with their actions.
Now why on earth would you recommend a YES vote - and I ask you the same question I have posed before:
IF THIS DEAL WAS ANY GOOD WOULD IT NEED THE CWU LEADERSHIP CIRCUS TO SELL IT?

How do you know who voted which way? I assume you were there, if thats the case then how where they hiding when they would have been in plain view.disgracednlc wrote:Firstly can I just say as part of the north lancs and cumbria membership, I am absolutely disgraced that you would recommend a no vote to our membership. As for hiding behind a forum is`nt that what you are doing now because disgracednlc is not your real name.

Oh he's hiding alright - he is probably one of those same self serving Area/Div Reps who don't want to rock the boat and disturb the release time/pay which they get now and it may not be generally known that they receive the same salary as a Manager not the same salary as a postman.mcboing boing wrote:How do you know who voted which way? What we as ordinary members don't know is what this new cosy little deal between RM and the CWU is that is going to put the financial support by RM on a new solid foundation - well its in the agreement BUT I'll just bet this issue isn't being raised at the circus.
To be taken seriously again the CWU needs to get back to grass roots, those same grass roots that financially support it and back it - but that is coming to an end, within five years they will have to amalgamate with another union, possibly UNITE and then all these full time officers will be out of a job.

THEY CAN HIDE AND THEY DO KNOW WHICH WAY WE VOTED AND A FEW OF THEM HAD THE NERVE TO INSULT OUR COLLEAGUES WHO VOTED A WAY THEY DIDNT LIKE .MAYBE ITS ABOUT TIME THE REST OF US IN THAT ROOM VOTED A WAY THERE POSITIONS!!
