It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

I've had my concerns about London but now is not the time to highlight differences - we need a united front to defeat this agreement. It doesn't matter what part of the country you work - if you're a delivery officer this deal is a wrong 'un.

I'm not from London but that Dispatches programme showed they stand up for themselves, we could all take a leaf out of their book.
They need to force their leaders to stop supporting Dave Ward at any cost, or to replace them so their militancy is properly represented.

Re: The facts on London Position
It's always amazed me that London postmen get paid more than the rest of us whilst not doing any more work (we all do 40 hours remember), that it always seems to be the London offices that are making demands (4 day weeks etc.) and it's always London offices that get taken apart by the media (panarama etc.)
Let's not forget that this is a nationwide company, a nationwide agreement and will be a nationwide ballot.
Let's hope that we ALL get what's best for us not just the London offices.

C'mon Billy, be fair - the extra they get is London Weighting ( which I never got working for any private sector employer when I lived in London.....although managers in some didbillypants wrote:It's always amazed me that London postmen get paid more than the rest of us whilst not doing any more work (we all do 40 hours remember), that it always seems to be the London offices that are making demands (4 day weeks etc.) and it's always London offices that get taken apart by the media (panarama etc.)
