Do you know the meaning or the etymology of the word "Union"? It comes from the Latin word for "one" ( wiki dictionary entry for "union" http://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/union" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; ) - it is one voice for many.....two unions will be two voices for less voices each, just what RM want, two voices shouting and arguing and being ignored by RM, rather than having one very loud voice shouting at RM & forcing RM to pay attention! Maybe you would do yourself a service if you learn a bit of union and workers rights history first.....and before you fire off a sarcastic or witless response, stop, think, and ask yourself, is it better to have people think you are a fool, or is it better to open your mouth & confirm it?
I don't suppose your mouth bleeds every 28 days, does it?

Im commited to part timers rights and if CWU are not up to the job then there will be change.

I will not stand for it.

and if that means generating a new union for a workforce that has differnt rights than others in the workplace.

so be it.

This or any other deal will be voted on by CWU members only. Whether the deal is good or not is for us to debate. You forgo your right to this debate by not being in the Union - End of.

What I do find amazing is that El-catero has experienced a local problem with his own offices Management and Full time employees yet with no other valid data has extrapolated his experience to the Corporate body and now proposes a national solution to a local problem.

What is even worse is that he is ignoring posts (mine for a start) that have agreed with him and think that Pro Rata for delivery supplement is wrong as they don't fit into his blinkered view of the CWU and RM nationally.

I don't mind if he wants to start a new Union, it wont see much interest and quite frankly its a fantasy, but even if he was 100% genuine about setting up a part time union he would in the long run, be doing more harm to his members in the long term, than this awful deal is going to do over the next 5 years.

Also El-Cartero to become a GS of a Union you need to show more leadership, more ability to discuss uncomfortable matters, an ability to address your concerns to management and be much more decisive than your posts show to date.

What I find amazing is 40 replies to his fantasy union.
He certainly knows a think or two about provoking a reaction.
Like someone else said about a spot - leave it alone it will go away.
Scratch away at it and you could be scarred for life.
The societies of consumption and squandering of material resources are incompatible with the idea of economic growth and a clean planet.

They accepted this - when they should of announced that the deal on the table isnt good enough and threatend further action.

If they do think this is acceptable then obviously im right.. we need a new union.

This is just a waiste of everyones time.

What did royal mail do to persuade them not to take that action?

I think these talks shouldnt be closed to 3 or 4 guys .

corruption at its finest.
