Got a overpayment notification letter today
I opened a letter today from royal mail saying i have been overpayed £94.50,the overpayment occured between 03/08/2001 to 30/03/2007,all this because of an imputting error in payroll resulting in me receiving bonus payments to which i was not entitled. It goes on to say they apologise for the inconvenience this may cause, however it is important that royal mail now recover this money and to that end you will need to choose one of the repayment schedules on the attached authorisation slip.I just feel this is a unjust time to ask for me to make repaymnets back that where not my fault and to do so as the im just saving up for the holidays soon.I will talk to my union rep on monday.

Is there a time limit on it?
If not just hang tight till they contact you again.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

overpayment
They won't let ya get away with it. I'm having to pay back a weeks wages that I was apparently overpaid when I left RM on a previous employment at a different office when my other half died suddenly. Union said there weren't nowt I could do + the lowest they would accept was 10 quid per week from me wages. All this was 4 years down the line.
When I die, bury me face down so everyone can kiss my arse! :o)

That is cruel and disgusting. With all the money they waste.hey won't let ya get away with it. The reason I said to get a full print out to Thisle-Rose is to delay. you could not check it properly after that amount of time.

overpayments
Thistle-rose, RM have their own overpayment recovery procedure and in that there is reference to a limit of 10% of any overpayment being stopped in any pay period (1 week for us) . That said, you should as already advised request printouts of the overpayments going back to the first payment, hopefully you may be able to dispute some if not all of the payments. Your DOM has the authority to wipeout or decrease the repayments this should be done following a meeting with you and a rep if you want one.
Make sure you take a rep in with you or at least get the branch to make representations for you.
