It's funny that no-one wants to respond to the assertion that racism is usually insidious and not blatant.
It could be either; where's the need for a reply?
Do any of you know what "institutionalized racism" is? I am sure most of the good officers at the Met would have said they didn't care if criminals were pink or blue blah blah blah but the reality is completely different.Did the Lawrence enquiry never happen in your world?
I'm sure we've all heard the term, but quoting it here proves nothing, (unless you merely wish to be seen as condescending in some way....?)
And really when you need to rely on Tman to make your arguments for you, then you know you have lost.
Why's that? That seems more like nothing more than a crass insult to me. Had I responded with something like "that CCR, don't listen to him as he likes the Clash FFS" you would then have (rightly) thought "he's run out of ideas...." Bizarre logic you use.
To lower a serious debate about racism to the level of "what about the Iraqi bloke by the window" is childish in the extreme and you really should be ashamed of yourself.
You need to reread what was written. I was showing that the statement " the Iraqi by the window etc" could be perfectly innocent and most definitely not "dodgy".
If anyone should be ashamed it's those who seek (and invariably find) perceived examples of racism where there's none, or none intended, because that's the very people who like to keep the old pot boiling....
With over 20 000 posts TBT, your silence is deafening in this thread, especially when according to your own posts you're not exactly a White Anglo-Saxon.
So you do think race should play a part in people's actions, then? How very hypocritical.....
