Billy Hayes on You & Yours
It's about 30 minutes into the programme. He's discussing Dear Granny Smith with a business consultant. The Royal Mail were asked to take part in the discussion but declined.

trying too hard to stay on New Labour message or too neutral / reasonable - The Rt . Hon Member for Greystone Towers in 2010 + ? - Hooper was irritating , the hollow rhetoric you'd expect , didn't like that book at allstokes11eg wrote:Well. once again, Big Billy seems to be sprouting R/M propoganda.

Bob Crow did make a right c**t of himself on " Have I got news for You " though with incoherent rants about Europe etc , maybe Billy didn't want to go the same way & get demonised by the media

Just listened to that. f***ing Ada
The best thing King Billy could do to help the membership is a three month stint on delivery. Go on BILL show the members how in touch you are,it might stop your sickening management sycophancy. You are so out of touch it ain't real. Lie with dogs and you get fleas, in your case Billy Smarts has got cause for concern

The only question is,Is this only Billy's personal opinion or that of the CWU hierarchy.BELIAL wrote:Just listened to that. f***ing AdaThe best thing King Billy could do to help the membership is a three month stint on delivery. If Billy is isolated in his views then his position is untenable.
If not we are all f*cked.
good times, bad times you know I've had my share

Re: Billy Hayes on You & Yours
Is it true to say the unions main membership within RM comes from deliveries?
Anyone know?

That's exactly how I felt listening to Billy waffle. In fairness though it isn't just Billy is it? Whenever you hear and see Tolhurst, Billy, Dave and even some of the posters on here there seems to be a huge gap between their idea of reality and the actuality. They have no grasp of the daily difficulty faced by delivery posties, callers office staff, locker staff, bulk drivers and all the small sundry jobs that used to be carried out by indoor staff which have since disappeared and are now an ad hoc style which usually ends up as a chaotic mess.BELIAL wrote:I'm an OPG, nothing this man said made me think that he understood my daily grind. He does not know what I endure daily for a piss poor pittance . Re: Billy Hayes on You & Yours
In fairness I agree. Must say ,Bitten my lip re this dispute in the vain hope that I'd somehow missed the bigger hidden strategic plan. However, given recent revelations about projected walk spans and local agreements it does appear that both sides are one side and the workers get shafted. So if that's the state of play ,what's our best move now? Constructive comments only pleasedvbuk55 wrote:That's exactly how I felt listening to Billy waffle. In fairness though it isn't just Billy is it? Re: Billy Hayes on You & Yours
Yes most of the postal side of the CWU (there is the BT side as well) is in deliveries. About two-thirds I think.La Poste wrote:Is it true to say the unions main membership within RM comes from deliveries?

But if you take the BT membership into account., then they are probably not the majority in the CWU as a whole.
