I disagree. The public do not care who is in the right or wrong. Or who hasn't stuck to what agreement. They just wanted it sorted and their post delivered. Now they have that, even if it is only agreed in the short term, you really think they are gonna support more strikes in the future? If so your living in cuckoo land mate. You really are. It's game over.

You ever heard a millionaire say money is the root of all evil? Me either!
I sure do get pissed off with all the detracters on this site. Fair enough you have an opinion but the 'interim' agreement is only minutes old, none of you will have had the chance to get involved in local discussions yet.
As someone else said, if local managers - and they are invariably the problem - are still acting in the same way they have in the past then ITS YOU WHO SHOULD BE SUPPLYING THE UNION WITH CONCRETE AND WELL DOCUMENTED EXAMPLES. That way the fortnightly review will be meaningful and the PEC will have good evidence to back their complaints.
In my humble opinion this is what R.M. wants, a split in the ranks, THIS IS ONLY THE FIRST OF MANY BATTLES. YOU CAN WIN OR LOSE PLENTY OF BATTLES BUT THAT MEANS NOUGHT IF YOU DONT WIN THE WAR. IF I AM PUT DOWN I WILL ALWAYS TRY AND GET UP AND GIVE MY FOE A BIGGER RESPONCE,AND COME AGAIN AND AGAIN AND AGAIN, UNTIL I HAVE EITHER WON OR BEEN DEFEATED.
All the goodwill in the world will not resolve the issues in a weak office.
Talk, talk, talk, talk - the CWU have been bamboozled again, they sell us out cheaply for a couple of ham sandwiches and a few kind words.
Does anyone on this forum truly believe that Royal Mail have any intention whatsoever of stopping the tactics they have employed so successfully in the last 18 months?
Does anyone at the CWU understand what goes on at the sharp end? All those items: work patterns, D2D, measurement, etc have been supposedly up for discussion forever and that blase statement "in the meantime all national agreements will remain in place" - they aren't in place NOW, changes have been steamrollered in time after time - are they still to stand - the park and loop duties with 4hr 15 delivery spans are they agreed at National level? and if not will they be rescinded? Of course not.
This is nothing more than the 2007/2009 Pay and Modernisation Agreement revisited.
The CWU does not deserve the support of the rank and file membership and they will not get any more money from me to support their lavish gravy train lifestyle.
spot on what a pile of shi*e, commited to this genuine that fuc**g s**t about time a petition was started to remove all at the top table a vote of no confidence thats what i say

Only the opinion of the main share holder the government really matters and if RM bugger around with the agreement then the government must step in. yours cuckoo land
Its time for a reality check people. From where we were with Royal Mail refusing to go back and revisit the imposed revisions to where we are now is a massive climb down. What was it Higson said 'no going back on mdernisation' , well he just hasgone back with every office now having the chance to re-negoitiate their impose revisions. Plus there is an end to people being taken off pay and at last a final admission of Royal mails ignoring of the reward part of the pay and modernisation. If Royal Mail dont't live up to their promises the strikes are back on. So to me for once our headquarters have come up with an acceptable agreement , what we need to see now is if royal Mail live up to their promises.
It is the attitude and actions of RM over the next few weeks that will determine if our issues finally get resolved.
The only issue I can see is whether or not the action should have continued untill everything was settled in full, rather than suspened once were were back on track and heading in the right direction.
The actions to be taken as laid in the interim agreement are fine to me, but the question for each and every member is, are they happy for the strikes to be suspended whilst those actions take place?

this will hurt the union badly. they have failed the memebers of this union and the memeber's won't forget.

Quite a while since I've held any kind of office. However, unless things have changed drastically I think you'll find that the final say on when (and even if) a "Yes" vote is implemented rests with the EC.

I completely agree Daz. We should have kept the stikes on , to keep the pressure on. If things break down, who's going to come out on strike in the lead up to Christmas, particularly now as the union , in the eyes of many have rolled over. We need the public on our side , but if we went on strike just before Xmas there would be uproar. Unfortunately Xmas does hold huge bargaining power, but also could lose the public forever if we went on strike again.
I think the most serious point is that they state that their is to be no future disruption to the service we give the customer. Am I being paranoid or have they given away our right to strike in the future?

I know, but twas ever thus & may even still be.
Any better?
It is the attitude and actions of RM over the next few weeks that will determine if our issues finally get resolved to the point where we have a final agreement on the table that the membership vote yes to.
