PLEASE DON'T BREAK THE STRIKE....

Post by deadbox »

I was on strike the last time we went out nationaly

After the first few strikes, doubting Thomas's started to question the unions ability to remain on strike

1 or 2 extra people went in each strike day

BUT AFTER 8 ONE DAY STRIKES... THE DISPUTE WAS SETTLED

AND I STILL HAD MY CONCIENCE CLEAR - I DIDN'T CROSS THE LINE (DISPITE BEING EXTREMELY POOR AND ON P/T WAGES WITH A FAMILY TO SUPPORT )

EVERYBODY HAS TO MAKE UP THEIR OWN MIND....BUT BY STANDING TOGETHER OVER THIS ISSUE, IT WILL BE OVER WITH SOONER THAN IF WE START TO FRAGMENT

REMEMBER.......IF WE LOSE THIS......WE'RE BONED !

ROYAL MAILS PLANS INCLUDE 27% OF THE WORKFORCE GOING, THE MAJORITY OF THE REMAINING STAFF TRANSFERED TO P/T CONTRACTS, MORE MAIL / PACKETS, "FLEXABLE" STAFFING, ANUALISED HOURS, EVEN READING GAS / ELECTRIC METERS ON DELIVERYS

I KNOW THIS BECAUSE OUR DOM GAVE US A POWERPOINT PRECENTATION ON THE RM BUSINESS PLAN LAST TUESDAY......

WE HAVE TO RESIST THIS OR THE JOB WON'T BE WORTH DOING

I AM PROUD OF BEING A POSTMAN, WORKING FOR THE CROWN AND I WANT TO PROVIDE THE BEST SERVICE TO ALL THE PEOPLE THAT I DELIVER TO

I FEEL THAT THE DIRECTION THAT WE ARE HEADED IN IS PUTING PROFITS (AND BONUS'S ) FIRST

PUBLIC SERVICE SHOULD BE FIRST !

:Very Happy
I was sure I'd seen a bead of sweat on my line manager the other day - Until I realised that he had just brushed past me too close

doubting thomas's

Post by vigilante »

somebody told me today that a few of the weaker element(the ones that never turn up for meetings etc)
in my place are in two minds wether to go in.
It's disappointing after the great turn out i had, but these are the ones that didn't turn up for picket.
we are all losing money but we need to stick together. These people are very narrow thinking, the future is bleak if we
all start waltzing back to work.

I'm with you 99%. That business of being proud to work for the crown is giving me the difficulty.

As for the Royal Fail Business Plan, let's sink it without trace!

on the day of the last one day strike our local mp roger berry turned up on the picket line and told us all that the labour goverment was a 100% behind the postal workers! he also said that it was bad management that had put tthe royal mail in the state it was today!
so if this is true why doesn't gordon brown do something about the present regime !!!

see if you can get your local mp to prove what he said coz I've seen no evidence of any support at all from any political party or individual. I believe we should withdraw our support and funding from the labour party unless they make their position clear immediately .

I will beg , borrow , or steal, to go the distance.

I'll be buggered if I'm gonna walk past managers with smirks on their faces, and with my tail between my legs . :cool
