I know all this BUT giving a weeks notice and striking the odd day here and there is not going to change a thing :mfo <----- and this slimey greedy overpaid t0sser is loving this..He knows the public dont like us striking he knows we`ll lose contracts..it will make breaking RM up and selling it on much easier
Firstly although I do not agree with strike breaking I can see that to be the only one in your office to not go in would take a strong nerve. Not everyone has that kind of will power to stand up on their own and i guess they would feel afraid. In our office only 5 out of 82 went in and it was them with low heads and small voices on Sat morning.
However I don’t get your broken “it will happen anyway” attitude. There are simply times when one has to stand up and be counted or lay down and be walked over.
The seven day notice and rolling single day action is done for good reason. The 7 day period gives the management time to realise that the CWU are serious and get around the table before we all start losing money. The single rolling day action provides the most disruption and thus pressure with the minimum loss of earnings.
The weekly action also keeps us refreshed in the media which adds the pressure. If we went all out with no money coming in it would not take long to starve us back to work. Also in the old striking days the dispute may have been settled in a few days but then it took a week to agree terms to returning to clear the huge backlog.
Its far from ideal but its all we have to fight these bastards with.
