If and when we go out,
at no point will i be whooping it up.
I am committed to strike action but view it like a trip to the dentist ( possibly painful but necessary)!
I understand though that a lot of us are impatient for change.

Re: It's a YES!
"The Communication Workers Union is expected to announce on Thursday that 120,000 of its members at the Royal Mail will back a national strike following months of regional stoppages."
120,000 of its members - so that's 120,000 out of how many of its members at Royal Mail ?
And "expected to announce" - that, without any further explanation, is about as newsworthy as 'the tories are Expected to win the next general election.
And I always thought the Guardian was a quality paper.

Re: It's a YES!
No doubt it will be a YES. I'm more interested in how many will not bother to vote, and so will Royal Mail. They will take that as a NO. I'd like to see a 70% return and an 80% YES vote to rubber stamp it. And how long is this government going to take a back seat? Could be difficult times ahead.

Bloody journalists. No hard facts, just (bone) idle speculation. Why don't they just report the facts, when the ballot result comes out in a couple of days timeLounge Lizard wrote:"The Communication Workers Union is expected to announce on Thursday that 120,000 of its members at the Royal Mail will back a national strike following months of regional stoppages."

That 120,000 figure is probably lifted from an outdated TOTAL EMPLOYEES figure from one of their own newspaper's articles from several years ago.
Even when we have achieved an overwhelming Yes vote in the past, there's usually about 40% of members that don't even bother to vote
Well-researched journalism ? Nah, guesswork that you or me could easily base an article on. For example, the sentence
The union will have to give seven days' notice of any national strikes, raising the threat of action before the end of the month
WOW! I never would have worked out in a million years that 8th October + 7 days = strikes sometime after the middle of the month. No wonder these guys are so highly paid
