First off i dont have the answers. Far from it. Before we can start to modernize we need to sort out one big problem that annoys me a lot. That is equalisation of workload.Funked! wrote:DaveF14, please let us know your vision of modernization .....the stage is yours.
I think that lapsing isnt needed. Not until performanc checks are put in place and done correctly. Checks on sorting and outdoor delivery. Ok some are faster than others. That will never change. That is fine. But we all get paid the same. So we should still do the same amount of work regardless of speed. For example. Someone in my office being on the same duty for years. Taking thier time and claiming overtime. Were as someone else going faster and then geting an extra street put on for geting back early. Then after a few years of this the difference in size of 2 duties can be noticable. Espically when the floater goes on the duty that claims overtime and finishes well early before his time.
This is what really gets to me and is my biggest gripe. If everyone was up to standard and duties all eqaul you might notice that lapsing isnt needed in your office.
