If you're in the CWU and don't like it, then come out. Its easy. Not much point being in if you don't believe in it. Or maybe you like something to fall back on when you get into difficulties? Like a lot of other members who mouth-off when they don't need it, but are quick to use it when they do.

I'm back on Tuesday (backshift) so i will post up any "pearls of wisdom" that i hear.. Heard that the backshift turned up on monday to be told of the strike action at the gates but that the nightshift was to start back as usual..

As to the state of the building regards to yorks & alts full of un processed mail i'll post up that info too.. We'll see how our managers take this action by the emc staff but it'll be the usual veiled threats & intimidation policy i expect.. Personally im sick to the back teeth of our managers & the royal mails policy of outright lying about the state of the business (mail levels down etc) to justify the wage freeze & staffing cuts..

What we need is all this to get aired in the media because people don't understand the levels of intimidation or stress staff are being put through if the don't toe the company line.. If the national ballot is a yes one (hopefully) then the public need to be made aware of just why we are doing this.. I'd love panorama or someone to do an undercover documentary about the royal mails constant lying & mis information being feed to the media to blacken the postmen/ woman & the cwu in the lead up to potrential strike action...

I noticed on my short delivery today (it was short because there is no mail :dance )that letters are dated as far back as Sept 19, and lots of them, so backlog is giving RM a kick in the balls :cfo :mfo

Can see edinburgh with a lot of overtime when they return judging by the RSCs full of your mail lying in Glasgow .

No Overtime for strikees. So the mail will mount up in the EMC. Unless that promise is broken.

As soon as the shift started we were pulled in to be read the riot act by our shift manager.. Basically the unofficial strike/walkout was illegal & the gloves were off.. After reading out a prepaired statement about how all this affects the royal mail & it's customers he said if we don't agree to work under his conditions we could go home & come back in when we were..

He refused to take any questions either so it was a basic " you walked out, now your back this is how it's going to be from now on, we'll show you lot not to go on strike".. Pissed off everyone & practically made up their minds to vote yes at the ballot because of his dictarorial style & petty mindedness ... I'll try to get a copy of his statement & post it up in full here..

The mail centre was rammed at first but they then re-directed most of it only doing inward mail, so no cfc's or packet stamping or meter everyone on the dsa all afternoon.. It's quite obvious the strike here hurt them big time, what i can't understand is how they say on the one hand they don't want us to go on strike, yet with the other they make up our minds for us by their actions towards us :mad ...

I they think they can intimidate us into a "No" vote then they've got rude awakening coming.. :evil/mad ...

Various work area's were pulled into the office today & lectured by our shift manager about mail figures & standards etc... Atmosphere not great either, the minute you stop working or talk, managers pop up & moan about getting on with the job. Nothing new about that but they seem uber zealous now about making a point of this..

I think their resigned to the fact that the ballot will be a yes vote, so there's no need to hold back anymore i.e show their real attitude towards the staff, does'nt help either when you have a few acting managers who are desperate to brown nose & rat on their former work mates too.. :mad ..
